Have had five lots, first one was collecting for his sister who was ill and his brother who was next door about 12 years old, next varied between four and six in number aged from about 4 to 8 years old all with an adult in attendance, I live in a large village, got loads of sweets left. David

It's been lovely again. We had our first around 6pm and the last about 8.30pm. About a dozen groups in all hubby reckons although I missed most of them as I was out with Ellie and her friends. The first group numbered around 10 and parents came too. They were lovely and sang us a halloween song. We passed lots of other groups en route and everyone was happy and calling out happy halloween. Ellie and friends enjoyed telling Elaine's jokes to anyone who asked for a trick so thanks for those Elaine! Our village is quite large and we are on the main road on the outskirts of it so we don't walk right into the village. Many houses were done up really well and one lovely couple had dressed up themselves and actually climbed out of their sitting room window whilst the girls were waiting patiently at the door. They didn't half make them jump and gave them loads of goodies. The girls were thrilled. Still have lots of sweets left so I think I'll just tuck in and enjoy! Daisy

I live in a small-ish market town. We had our first Trick or treaters about 6.30pm and our last ones at about 8pm, we had about 12 ish groups of children around 9 to 13 years old, all were very polite and said Thank you. Tammy

Hi Jenny, We live on the outskirts of a small town. I had an orderly queue of small people waiting when I got back from work. They know a soft touch when they see one. We've had 6 or 7 batches of 2s and 3s. Gwynne

We have still not had any. Lovely to hear from you David Beard. Not spoke to you for months. ' Be afraid' Lol. Please join us all more often. Daisy, Sounds like you have a great community spirit. Bet Ellie really enjoyed herself, and you too by the sounds of it. It does seem to me that most of us are lucky and do not get the rough teenagers abusing 'Trick or Treat' I just hope that all those not so nice yobbo's that have decided to go out, have remembered the older generation out there. 3 years ago I was out on the evening and my wife had 2 lots of intimidating teenage thugs, who through eggs at our conservatory. She asked me not to leave her alone on 31st again. Last 2 years we did not have any callers. Although young children were along the road. We live in a road that ends with a railway. There is a footbridge next to our house. Today we had been shopping in Calais and as I was unloading the car, a group of about 6 or 8 youngsters came over the bridge and as they passed the house one said “Happy halloween” and then said to the others say “happy halloween” they were closely followed by a group of older children dressed as witches, but none called at our door, David

We've had the whole village......... it's a big event here in County Down even the Mummy's & Daddy's dress up and no child is without an adult standing near by............... our dog had a devils costume and this went down very well with everyone ( although hubby didn't take him to the front door ......... unless they asked him too) Finished it off with a big bonfire and fireworks............ hot choc all round and some sausages LOL Much happiness debi

Live in very small village 10 miles from Newquay! First tricksters rang doorbell - 2 witches ages about 8 and 10 - Mum waited a bottom of drive! Gave them some Spooky Sweets and they said Thank You and Happy Halloween! Half an hour later - a gang of kids aged around 10 - 12 rang the bell about 10 times shouted and yorped - no adult in sight (think they were a bit excited) so I went out and said 'You are making a Right Racket' and gave em some sweets! They also said 'Happy Halloween and one said 'Sorry we were so noisy!' Bless!! We were all kids once you know! ;o)) Oh then we went out to the pub so don't know if any more little ghouls visited!!

142 kids - started 6pm, all done by 8.30pm. Lots of lovely costumes. I made the older kids do a trick for their treat! I do not consider it begging, more of a tradition. I have only been trick or treating once, the first year we emigrated to Canada. The neighbours had fireworks tonight. It is so nice to see the little ones faces. Deb

Not an estate, individual houses on outskirts of small town, large village, main street leading to city. Weve had about 20 in the evening starting at 5.30 p.m. up to 7.15 p.m. in groups of 4 down to 1 little kid on his own but thank goodness, his dad standing at top of drive waiting for him.

Jenny it was great. The road we are on is a main road so once the nights draw in we don't really see much of each other although I do see a lot of the neighbours when I'm out walking during the day! A few of us have decided that we'll have a sort of front garden party next year with bangers and baked potatoes, hot choc and mulled wine and play apple bobbing and the slime game. We may even let the kids join in!! lol Daisy

Jenny Our first one was before 5 and last one was 7.45. I don't mind if they are dressed up and parents are with the littleuns. Nath was at cubs at a halloween party and the last ones came when I bought him home. Gave the lad a handful and asked him to get his mates not to call as Zoe was asleep. They did as they were asked. Trouble is now have loads of sweets left over.

I live attached to a mixed private and council estate, but our road is mainly 'retired people' in private bunglaows. I heard some kids at the door about 8pm, and as my bell doesn't work, I didn't answer the door. Perhaps peple were having firewrok parties as there were more firewoorks than kids. Anne
