Oh dear, one of the nudges was me.....Sorry if it's caused problems. I came in from a long day and found the thread on page 6. it needs to be more visible than that! so I nudged it. I didn't delete my nudge immediately, but it wasn't there for long! What is the point of cluttering up such an important long thread with nudges? As I said, sorry if I've caused problems or offence. That's certainly put me in my place. Don't worry about me doing it again in a hurry, my membership expires today, and I'm going to see how long it takes for me to rejoin. I think it will be about a week! Suex

Well Karen thank you for that well done you, I shall accept a private pm on how that was achieved especially the credit card bit far more important than anything else at my age lol. Oh Bob now she won't need to tell me her bit tut. But you are right and that's how I reckon the phantom isn't caught too easy, because its quicker aint it? If you are interested in keeping certain threads in mind write down the number that appears in the address bar as Bob says its 3539265. Its like people keep membership numbers to keep track of people who change their names. Amazing the trouble some people go to, its really hard to believe sometimes. Pat x

chrissie, the number of this thread is..3539265 you just change the number from any other thread,to this one, and this one will appear how ever, you would STILL have to make an entry, for it to go to the top.( THEN you delete your entry.........) Viola!! a phantom nudge, from the past!! of course you can even bookmark a thread, so you dont have to worry about numbers..... Bob

Sorry Pat - I'm not sure that I understand that? The typing in a number? Where is the number and how would that stop someone getting caught? Oh darn it - the boss has finished watching his football, so I'm being told that it's time for bed:)) Will never know now LOL:))

Jenny I don't think its been done through Malice there would be no reason to surely? Paul if you are still there wouldn't be anything to do with your Balloon thing? maybe some idiot doesn't know the Relay thread would not be deleted by GR? its been allowed and they would not touch it. Pat x

Seriously now, I cannot believe anyone would want to nudge the Relay thread up to cause trouble. GR has had a hell of a lot of publicity due to the relay. I just cannot understand why anyone has done this through malice. I just find it very strange. Jenny xx

Chrissie I totally agree with you if ever any threads have been nudged by the phantom they should never be allowed to stay on general. GR should have a out of date policy on threads incase others prefer not to delete them. Oh by the way every thread has a number if you want Joy you can jot down the number of your thread and phantom nudge it by putting the number inthe address bar. Wonder if that is why the phantom is so hard to catch? Pat x

With a thread like the GB relay it will soon get cluttered by messages with little or no meaning,reaching page 20 and then needing to use the Latest reply first button. by deleting these, you can save page space. its the same with a nudge, on a deserving thread, brings the thread to the top. I do not advocate nudging controversial threads..but light hearted ones are fair game....... anyway, on the tips and records boards.........it is recommended..within reason, of course. Bob

What I can never understand Pat though is, why doesn't the person who started the original thread delete it? That way it couldn't cause trouble. Or am I being thick now:))

Sorry Joy for an example there could be a disagreement on a certain topic and this topic has been covered before on another thread the Phantom Nudger goes and looks for a thread pertaining to that and nudges it often causes uproar. Pat x Ken not the best way to be remembered really is it? LOL.
