Rosalind in Madeira Report 23 Nov 2005 22:03

Brenda, I went to Hatfield Poly, was doing engineering, rather got pushed into it by my mother as I got good results for my OND in engineering, but it wasn't what I wanted to do and so only did first year. Ros, with no regrets that I became an Ag Lab.

Hertfordshire also, did a combined degree of Maths and Computing. Remember driving round for ages trying to find Hatfield's illustrious (sic) town centre, and was somewhat bemused when it turned out to be nothing more than a tiny parade of local shops. However, I still think I picked the best uni out of the ones I listed on my Ucas form. Lucia, when the time comes, do visit the universities and see for yourself what they are like. Don't go on just reputation and what you've read about them.

Lucia Have you seen the ucas website? You can search by course type and it lists all the uni's offering that course. It's at www.ucas(.)com. I typed in history on the search page and 7 pages came up! Are there any other considerations for you? Staying close to home, for example... or maybe getting away from home! lol. Brenda

Lucia - I have a daughter reading history at uni and my son has just filled in his UCAS forms. His plan is to join the RAF after graduating, so he decided to chose a subject he would really enjoy. Top of his list are Durham and Edinburgh. What do you think you'd enjoy studying? Daisy
