Hi Lucia What year will you be entering Uni - 2006 or 2007? If it's any help, my son is hoping to go in 2007 (he's in the Lower 6th/Year 12 here). He wants to study for a joint degree in Geography and History, with his main aim being to become a secondary Geography teacher. He's planning on doing a 3-year degree followed by a year's PGCE. We have been advised by his school to apply for prospectuses now and book for Open Days in the spring term. His four Unis in order of choice who do the degree he wants are: St Mary's College, Twickenham (part of Surrey Uni) Canterbury Worcester Chester Hope this helps, and good luck! Mandy :)

Hi Lucia, I went to Bangor Uni, North Wales, as a mature student, and gained my degree in Accounting and Finance. I loved every minute of it and still miss it 3 years later. Good luck! Kate x

6 years ago after being a rather mature student, I graduated from my local, King Alfred's - now called the University of Winchester. I went 'local' because my girls were still at school and I couldn't leave them!!! Actually it is also one of the best for the subjects I studied (religion and education) Colin Firths mum taught me Hinduism :0) maggie

I didn't. But my son is at Uni in Oxford.(2nd year).....Not the red brick one just the old Poly, Oxford Brookes :))) Apparently the red brick lot call Brookes the ELC (Early Learning Centre) lol He is studying Computer Science and the course is everything he hoped for. Make your selection of Uni on the basis of the course that offers you the best lead in to your chosen career. Good luck Chris

I went to the Surrey Institute of Art & Design as a 'mature' student but didn't finish the course. My son also did a year-long diploma course there after A-levels, then went on to get his BA in Design & Modelmaking from (Wait for it!) The University of Hertfordshire. Incidentally, both my In-laws worked for many years at the Uni of Herts, when it was a Poly and once it took on delusions of grandeur and engulfed the town of Hatfield. >*|*<
