If you can't think of anything then you must have all you need, so donate the money to a childrens home, or a homeless centre. Shirley Ann.

Joy, I think that's quite a generous amount! We don't tend to spend that much on each other, although we both love buying and giving presents and only have a small family, so we do go a bit mad with everyone else lol! However, if your hubby has been saving hard all year and you're not putting that amount on a credit card, that's great - good for him, he sounds lovely! Mandy :)

Mandy He is wonderful. Has scrimped and saved all year. We've not been on holiday for 6 years so we like to make Christmas extra special. Don't use credit cards. Had one once before and when we figured out how long it would take to pay it off by just paying the minimum amount each month, we decided to pay the whole lot off and get rid. Joy

Joy I agree - we all have our own priorities. If you're not that bothered about holidays, then why not have a fantastic Christmas? We tend to make it a special time too. The problems come when people spend a fortune that they haven't saved up for and therefore can't afford. Madness! If it's any help in your list, I'm having my favourite (slightly pricey lol) face cream and eye cream, plus half a dozen new books by my favourite authors. He'll also get me a little surprise or two as well. Hope you have a great time! Mandy :)

Gwen I also save at Asda on their little plastic card. Lot easier than stamps. My food bill is huge at Xmas as I usually have loads of visitors. Hoping for more this year as Uncle and Aunt now know where I live and have invited them round. Would like my children to get to know them before it's too late. Plus hoping to be throwing a New Year's party, finances permitting. Joy

Joy, bit tongue in cheek here, from a male point of view,...dont know how young or frisky you both are,if you feel you have everything...if you can ditch the kids, why not have a ''dirty '' weekend away...sometime...........that way maybe it will be something you can BOTH enjoy.............. Bob

Joy if you haven't already bought his pressie, why not opt just for the Cd and lump both monies together and have a weekend away, say at Valentines or something. Better than having things you don't really need.

What about spending what he has saved on a joint gift, something for the home or garden that you can both enjoy all year round. Or have some portrait photos done of the two of you the new modern ones. xxhugxx
