I was suprised - but delighted - as well Pat to see these lovely strong names were so popular. Years ago, when Neighbours became popular over here a woman where I used to live named her twins Jason and Kylie! Was really over the moon when my own childrens babies were born - I love the names they gave them - Isobel Sophia and Rachel Nicole.

There are a lot of Gillians (tho mine is a J) born around 1969....is there a website that tells you year for year what the most popular baby names were? Am sure that Gillian would have been in topten my year....tho of course I had to be a wee bit different lolololololol

Think I'd probably have stuck with two of my kids names and maybe chosen something different for the other two. Yvonne, in Scotland they used to shove INA on the end of a man's name and give it to a girl. Jill thought it hilarious that I was to be called after my Dad, Donald......Donaldina! thankfully my Mum changed her mind! LOL Christine

emmmm 21 actually!!!! pmsl lolololol If my kids had all been the opposite sexes to what they are......Elliot would have been called Brogan, Louise would have been Evan and Finlay would have been Reeve...... Elliot, Louise, Finlay Brogan, Evan, Reeve Hmmmmmm let me think lolololol

Didn't want to then Christine let hubby have his way :-((( Except for my daughter turns out the name followed in his tree for generations & his mother was delighted thought we were following the tradition lol. we knew nothing about it. Wasn't for any other reason than if she had been a boy it was to be Marcus she being a girl is Marcia. I wouldn't allow hubby to have his way with her name but allowed his choice for her middle name which is Millicent she tells me she is glad I put my foot down lol. Pat x

Thats an awful name to give a baby, Aanus...how could the parents be so cruel? Would you all have still called your children the same names, if you were having them now? Christine

PennyDainty

PennyDainty Report 24 Dec 2005 01:17

A few names there Pat I really don't like, but I won't say incase I offend anyone! Jill, well you're bound to pull them all, with your youthful good looks....what was it? 24 LOLOLOLOLOL And I think you'll find back in 1961, Donaldina would have probably made the top 10! Christine
