i think they are trolls just out to set people against each other. As to whether we are allowed to state the number, not sure, but I suppose there is nothing to stop you messaging people with the number. Ann Glos

Well one has left the site, they did so after nudging threads in other people's names last night. So that number doesn't matter now:-( Trouble is they will probably return or maybe already have under another i.d. :-( Luckily it's not just one persons word but the nudgers were caught by at least two or three members, so it's not just a matter of hearsay. I tried to find a common ground looking at the threads that were nudged but couldn't find one, one of mine about the phantom was nudged, made no sense really lol. Pat x

Hi Ann can we do that then? I didn't think we were allowed to. Julie that's one way another is every thread on genes has a unique number you can key in that number and the thread will appear. The number is shown at the top after Genes address. Pat x

If you know the title of a thread you can put it in the box near the top of the page and bring it up that way, even if you only know some of the words you can still do this.

I still feel that, if somebody knows the membership number of the person, it should be made public. that way suspicion would not fall on others, as the nudger wants it to. Ann Glos

Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 2 Jan 2006 13:48

Hi Sorry I am losing the plot here. If I look back on the general board to page 15, the earliest thread date shows 31st December, on my computer anyway. My dumb question therefore is how do people manage to resurrect these threads from months ago. Where are they?

Unknown Report 2 Jan 2006 13:26

Hi Pat, That's not something I used to do very often, but I do it now. I've often wonder if people actually READ threads before they post replies, as very often people post replies that say exactly the same things as others have already said, and they make no reference to 'I agree/disagree with so&so' or 'as so&so has already said'. Sometimes I wonder if I'm on the same planet as some people or if I'm invisible! (But then, I also know the answers to those questions! LOL) I suppose it depends on people's level of interest in the threads, how much time they have available and whether or not they can be bothered. If they don't think it matters too much, they won't care how irrelevant their posts are. Last night was obviously going to turn into something ugly, so I left GR as soon as I noticed the 'Sam Povey' thread had re-appeared. I hoped it wouldn't attract any posts, as it (and other old threads) had obviously been regurgitated by some idiot for some stupid reason, but this morning - sure enough - it's started gathering interest in ancient history again and people are getting paranoid. It's a good thing people like you are around to explain. I just hope this doesn't all get out of hand. We need to turn over a new leaf for a New Year, not keep harking back to the rotten things in the past! CB >|< X

I notice even this morning people were still adding to threads that were months old, incredible that someone gets such satisfaction out of this. I don't find it funny or amusing especially when phantoms use other people's names to nudge it's disgraceful. Pat x

LOL Fun or what, NOT just added to that Deb thank you. Its not new this has gone on and on at night here for as long as I have been on general board and people who are around at this time are used to us Night owls being subjected to this more than the day peeps. I do not wish to tell anyone what to do or when to do it BUT I just want people to realise we have a few of these phantom nudgers they seem to get some sort of satisfaction out of this behaviour. Pat, as you know, I replied to the Mike thread even tho I noticed it was old because it was relevant to what happened last night. I do look at dates because I usually read the postings first before replying - rarely do I do as many seem to, and that is to post a reply to a heading, without reading further into the content first, and that is when the time scale usually becomes obvious.

Pat Report 2 Jan 2006 01:40

Sorry I meant people innocently adding I do not and want to make very clear here I DO NOT and WILL NOT blame genes members adding to these threads as they see them as legit. It is obvious to me that threads are nudged by the phantoms so often especially late at night to cause some kind of friction amongst the members. It is totally unfair on the members that this is done, you see it time and time again here and i get cross as its is and its so easy to be drawn in. I did not start this thread to cause trouble I started it just to say be careful be aware of the phantom nudgers and don't let them get the satisfaction. Thank you for adding to this. Pat x
