I was 22, it was 1962. Not sure if I would pass the test now or not. I failed my first test through not keeping up with the traffic. I still don't drive over fast, although I do keep up with the traffic these days. I believe parking comes into it now too. Not sure I would pass that, i usually try and park where I can drive into a space not alongside the road. Ann glos |

I was 21. My OH 'taught' me to drive but I failed twice then had 3 'proper' lessons and passed. This was a long time ago. My son age 17 passed last week, his first time! I'm really proud of him but don't want him to drive himself to school yet as the traffic is so awful!! Dee -you are giving away all your secrets tonight, I'm keeping quiet about which year this was! In answer to the first question - 43. In answer to the second, no. I haven't driven for some time and need a refresher course of lessons. CB >|< |

34, 3 lessons, 2 tests. I think i would fail miserably on the theory. Yes, i used to cross hands when turning, now with power-steering i use the heel of my hand. Micheal. |

22 and then again 34.....as had to take it again in Australia. The second one was more scarey than the first as I would have looked a right plonker if I'd failed!!! |
