Bryan, you don't need to have done any of that stuff - the press make it up as they go along! The 'There's no smoke without fire principle' doesn't apply, either. :-)

So far as politicians are concerned, I definately want them to have lived a little and to know how the world works. As long as they are capable of doing the job and haven't broken the law or are otherwise corrupt, I don't see how their private lives make any difference to anything. Glass houses is right.......and the press just seem to cater to the lowest aspects of human behaviour. And, no, I wouldn't put myself up for that kind of scrutiny or character assassination.

We all, I'm sure, have things we would not want others to know about. It's that damned Freedom of the Press thing which seems to have more force than Individual Privacy. I personally don't give a damn about what my MP gets up to in his private life, although I would expect him to be replaced if found guilty of a crime while in office. And no-one has the right to sit in moral judgement of another. There is only one court for that, and that is higher than the Old Bailey or the Home Secretary.

oh I didnt say that there were no skeletons, just no room in the closet :-)) I have definately dont things that I would far rather people didnt know about, dont see that it is anybody elses business either. I agree about the polititians, they need to have lived a bit to know what is going on in the world

And me Paul - serious and not so serious:) Lucky you Julia lol. I agree with you. I'm not even sure I want an MP who hasn't lived a bit and had some experience of a life imperfect. I can't see how this culture of trying to bring people down can change now.

no room for skeletons in my closet, far too many shoes for that :-) I think that most of us have things that we would far rather not be aired in public, but by the same token, I dont think that the press should be looking too closely either, they should seem to want to destroy people, people in glass houses and all that

Unknown

Unknown Report 29 Jan 2006 00:18

yes, there are things in my life that I wouldn't want everyone to know

Would or could you ever put yourself into the public eye? No that I'd want to, but I'm sure it would be unwise for me to go into politics or onto a reality show because I've (just about) lived an interesting enough life to worry about what/who would come out of the woodwork lol
