my dog (Lucy, Border Collie) barks her head off if anyone comes near the house, but the only chance they'd have of coming to any harm is if they stepped on her ball which she would have dropped at their feet to be thrown for her.. |

Oh Sue how funny. My dog, a little black cross terrier, looks sweet and loves playing with her Teddy bears but if any man comes in by the front door she attacks them. If they come in through the back door she wags her tail! I hope the burglars don't know this. Beryl x |

I think they're lovely dogs - I've never met a bad one, only soppy ones. It is nice to have big dogs that make strangers nervous about coming in the house - best burglar deterrent you can get. I have a four year old German Shepherd (Alsation) who is a big girls blouse with a big bark - delivery men hate me lol Kaye x |

Hi Sue Tell her it was only because she was accompanied by you. I have a met a few duff alsatians as well. Sheba might have smothered potential burglars with 'gifts' of shoes, cushions, anything she could carry really. Beth :) |

LOL Sue - they was acting tough then?? PMSL Some friends of my Ex have a Rottie - she is as soft as anything, but I am told that they will guard their home fiercely. And that they will let a burglar get in the house no worries, but when they try to leave - that's when they are in trouble!! |

my niece has a rotty too - a 2 yr old female called Gucci. Lovely temprament, brilliant with her kids... but you would NOT want to go in that house unaccompanied if the dog didnt know you, its VERY protective. |

I own two of them, we have had to have metal railings put inside the dining room window... to stop them jumping through it ! One of the other mums at school [ who i do not really know] asked me if they were good guard dogs... she has been broken into recently, and had seen mine [ and heard them] when passing my house. So i told her they were brilliant... and good with children........ so on my invite, she called around to meet them . I took her in to meet them ...... Max was flat on his back... all 4 legs akimbo... peeping at us out of one eye, but never moved !!! Ruby was in her bed nursing her phantom litter of stuffed toys... she never moved or murmured either..... I think she is considering an alsation.......... |
