Hi Penny, If you search for 'You are all invited- Reception update' you can see it all unfold in front of your eyes :-) (even if it does take half an hour to read) Rick. |

Well lol it's like this... On a pretend wedding thread I was the groom. The bride ran off with the best man. I ended up with the bridesmaid. Except.......the last bit happened for real ! And there's a real wedding going on in June. |

My husband's second cousin. Neither she nor he knew of the other's existence. Their grandfathers were full brothers (there was also a half brother and two half sisters who we knew about), but there is a BIG family secret(!?!) which nobody will talk about. Cousin and husband think it must be to do with their respective grandfathers, although Doug's grandfather was at her grandfather's wedding, so it must have happened after 1912.. We met up in 2004 and the family likeness was uncanny - they look more like siblings than Doug and his brother do! We both had the same photographs of the family and were able to identify each others 'mystery relatives'. I don't suppose we'll ever find out the reason for the family rift, but it must have seemed serious at the time because Doug's uncle would not let us try to trace the family history at all. We had to wait until after his death and he took the secret to his grave with him. Even his younger brother (Doug's Dad) had no idea what the secret was. I'm sure he had no idea his father had an elder brother, William, although Dad's elder brother's name was William, and Dad's name was Joseph, as was his father's. Sue xx I suppose I should mention my niece and my daughter-in-law, who are also both members - but I knew about them long before Genes existed! LOL |

Two cousins. Their mum was died a few months after the younger was born and they were in a home for years. Soon after that my sister found a letter from their mum, to my parents, written from hospital shortly before she died. She refers to my sister and I as bonnie babies. I hear they also have a bro. in Oz I also contacted the daughter of another cousin, and distant cousins in Oz and NZ. A 2nd cousin who exchanged family photos with me. 2nd and 3rd cousins of my wife. The only one I have met so far is from Oz. All in a year. David |

1st I found my REAL father in canada...met him.(thats another story lol) Then I found an adopted half Sister that was adopted at 6 weeks old...not met her yet....(one year ago now. Thats yet ANOTHER story) Then! an adopted Nephew found ME on here! He's 48 years old now. He met his real mum (my Sister) on her death bed. He had to say his hello and his goodbye all in one breath....He's now back where he belongs. He is the image of her and very much still loved. Welcom home Stephen Paul and thankyou Genes Reunitedxxx Gerri x |
