Fancy thinking about a fire - we are still sleeping with the fan on here - but tomorrow our airconditioning gets installed!! Whoopeeee! Hi Suzie Q - the games are addictive - and aren't our athletes doing so well! Thanks for the hilarious messages! Glad to hear you had a good birthday Shazz - you were spoilt - should be more of it! Hi Lew - hope you are cracking the whip in the naughty corner - now there's a thought - a whip could be a handy addition! Thanks to all of you who have sent your kind thoughts to me re M I L. The funeral is in Brisbane on Thursday. Of course, ex will be there so it's a situation fraught with emotional undercurrents while keeping a cool exterior!!! We had a lot of contact during the 2 years our son was dying from cancer so we are really very civil to one another. His wife and I are even on hugging terms! Enough of all that! Shazz, glad you had a memorable birthday. 28 is a nice age, my next birthday I will be 29, I think. Hope you are feeling okay today Donna, it's such a sad time for you. Vonny, where do you live, that sounds good to me, lighting a fire in Feb. It's a bit cooler here today and it keeps trying to rain. Rain is forecast this week so we are keeping our fingers crossed. Just heard, Brad Pitt is boxing for Australia. How about Kathy Watt. She did really well to come back at 41 and get the silver. You really get pulled in with the games, it's hard to leave the TV and I am not really a very sporty person. Even Neville gets glued to the set and he is less sporty than me. I do hope those in north Queensland don't get hit by another cyclone. It would be just too much for them. I wonder how much support they will get from Indonesia? Probably about as much as new Orleans got. Sorry to sound so negative, it's one of those things that make me angry. On a lighter note, has anyone heard from Laurie? I hope every thing is well with her and that she has found lots of new dead people. I have just found a new site with some of my tree on it and it looks like I may be getting my John's mixed up. Why do family's tend to stick with one name. It would be nice to find an Apple or a Fifi Trixiebell in there some where LOL I need to get out all my paperwork and sort them out. Afternoon Wattlers, Bit quiet today isn't it. Nice to see you on here Mary - will be nice when you are back home and can hop on anytime. Oooohhh Vonny - isn't it cold - had to wait 40 minutes for a bus this morning as the 8.30 was a no-show and I wished I had grabbed a jacket instead of cardigan - that will do my cold no end of good - lol Bet if I hit the on switch the gas would start but shall resist the temptation and just put some more layers on tonight. Hope you're feeling better soon - I always take water with me when we go on hols - well I still can't drink Adelaide water and just so used to our nice Canberra water that I feel safer doing that. Hi there, I've been around but just reading and tidying emails. Think I ate something that disagreed with me (or else it was the water) on the weekend, so have stayed home today and taking things slowly. Has been quite cloudy and cool but sun coming out now. Will be having the first fire soon if this keeps up :) Tradition says that you shouldn't start your fire before ANZAC day but in the 12 years we have been here I have had a fire waaaaaay before then. One year it was in FEB!! Vonny :)

Hi all you mad mob... Sorry havent been on lately but have been in a place with no putas.. am trying to convert them and may have been a little succesful and hope the next visit they may have a puta... Auckland was great and I managed to catch up by phone with our lovely Christine there. Some will remember her from the old thread. She is just as lovely and I was sorry I could not catch up with her personally but I will do my best on the next visit. I am sorry I am late in wishing Shazz a happy birthday and by the sounds of it you had a great day, so good fro you.. I was sorry to hear that Rebs has left. She has helped me with lookups and I am very greatful to her. Her sence of humour was a relief and a great source of amusement, and I will miss her. Hope she returns soon.. I will be home in a few days and will try and catch up with all the news then.. sorry I cant now as this puta is on dial up and I am holding up the phone line.. Love to you all Love Maryxxx

Hello to each and all, I had a lovely birthday today and thanks to all of you my wonderful and dear new GR friends it was a nicer ending to a great day I am really overcome with emotion and I REALLY MEAN IT THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH Also received a beautiful ecard from my friend Faye, a Pamela Gladding card for anyone wishing to view they are very nice Thank you Lara,Julie Cat,Trifley,Tassie,Anna,Suzy Q, Lew Lew,Tony,Sandra, Vonny, Gwenda, and Jood Went searching thu OH cupboard yesterday pretending to tidy up his clothes to see what I could find and couldnt find a blasted thing, searched the boot of the car came up with nothing so thought oh well never mind Ill go and buy my present myself today, bugger sneaked out to the car this morning and saying to myself I couldnt find anything in there, he came back in and went into the laundry pretending to put something in the clothes basket and came out with a little bag with guess what MY Bottle of COCO perfume, cheeky bugger didnt even know he was listening the other night when I mention it to him pretended to be reading the paper so am very pleased and daughter bought me my ankle bracelet think I did pretty well and went out to the Black Stump with friends for lunch so yes I did have a good day, my 9yr old grandson rang tonight to wish me happy birthday and after he finished singing he said Nan are you 60 yet poor little man he thinks because his other Nan who died last December was 60 he thinks all nans are going to die at that age, he was a little worried told him I was only turning 28 and he said NO YOUR NOT NAN you look older than that little bugger Anna big hugs and condolences for for MIL may she now rest in peace ((((0)))) Jood must have been watching the same weather man this morning (Grant Denyer) chnl 7, gave up in the end and just stood in the rain hes a funny guy to watch at the best of times Things are certainly in a bit of a mess up there thats why I would never move up that way wouldnt like to see my belongings just all blown away, I feel so sorry for those poor people I get too upset just to watching them go through it Hi Lew nice lounge suite they didnt have a photo of your dining setting on their site though, youll have to take a photo and put it on for us to see and Im with you, id love to canalling in UK have seen it on Getaway a few years ago and it the places you pass though a glorious say hi to rebs when u ring Well Ive prattled on long enough think Ill go and watch a bit more of our gold winning athletes See ya tomorrow

Hi Wattlers I'm sitting here in my tiara and I'm munching on the last polly waffle in the house! My god it's hard to keep anything away from my 2 favourite vultures.......I'll have to get new hidding places lol. Emailed Rebs and told her what I was doing.....it's a wonder she's not bashing my door down for a bite ha ha. The Cairns area looks a mess on the news tonight. I hope they're ok. Try this one too........( Tony Designed..and Barbs favourite...:>)) Enough Spaghetti ( thin or Fettucini ) for 2 peeps or more. Boil ya Spag....( as normal ) Chop up one Onion ( finely ) Chop up one pkt. Bacon Chop up 5 med Tomatoes. Chop up one Capsicum ( Green or Red ) Chop up Glove of Garlic Chop up 6 med. Mushrooms ( add last ) Fry all of above in a little oil. Fry up a couple of Eggs, then slice them, and add to all of above. Drain Spag.......and put in casserole dish, add all of above. Mix it all in to Spag....then grate..Tasty cheese all over top. Put it in Microwave or oven...to melt Cheese.....and serve...Yum Tony Oz..:>))

Hiya Susan. I love anything with Curry mate...me granny being born in India. She made some wonderful Curries. My recipe. pork sausage's or whatever ( Boiled ) approx....tsp. curry powder pineapple pieces tsp. cornflour cup of pineapple syrup dash of Worstershire chilli pepper hot boiled rice.....serve with Vegie's.......Yum Tony Oz...:>)) and onions.......lol

Afternoon All and let’s hope that FNQ is okay. Yes, SuzyQ, I’d love to do the French canals as well. Friends of ours have already done them and said it was wonderful, so maybe we should do UK first then travel across the Big Canal (channel) then do France. Now that would be fun!
