Evening Wattlers Good news....I got my path reports back today. All benign, so I live to fight another day yayyyyy. I felt pretty confident about it but it is always nice to have that confirmation. Jude, Melb.......we have a hard wired smoke detector and it is a bloody nuisance. If the griller or the oven get a bit smokey the thing goes off and scares the daylights out of us all. The idiot who put it in put a detector right above the oven so it doesn't take much to set it off. I think the battery operated ones are better. Tony... Thanks for the revised members list. This means we will only have to buy a ticket once every 16 weeks. How's your mum? Hope she is feeling better. A big healing hug for her <<<<H>>>> Melbourne must be lovely now. The lights, fish and party atmosphere sound great. When Melb parties it parties! Hi to Chris in NZ.......I haven't met you before...I am fairly new to the thread. Nice to have you back with us. I hope all those who are feeling under the weather will soon be tip top and sparking on all fours. I'm having a early night tonight as I was up at sparrow f**t to wave Mark off to the Coffs rally. The Qld group got there safe and were all tucking into breakfast when Mark rang about 9am. Have a great weekend all........a most regal, pharonic wave to everyone. luv Trifley Queen of the Nile

Well hello to All and apologies for not being online sooner. Today has been a bug**r of a day with staff members away, property settlements not happening, money not arriving and just generally a pain! Have received your email Tony about Wattlelotto and agreed wholeheartedly with the contents. You sure you weren't a Solicitor in a previous life, lol. Hello Mary, nice to meet you, too. Hope you had a great holiday. I'm not as nutty as I sound, just slightly insane, but I find this helps!!! Visited the construction site twice today and the building is coming along nicely. Thanks for your email Lara, but I think our builders aren't as blond as yours, lol. Ooo and Lara, you and your pool. Won't be long now 'til I'm floating in mine. Now I'll have to make sure I set up the laptop on a wireless connection, so I can float in the pool and chat with you all at the same time! Better make sure I have a stubby holder in the inflatable chair! After last nights visit from the 'Cable Guy', went to Harvey Norman to buy an amplifier. Got a great Yamaha one and talked them down from $900 to $750 and even the Cable Guy was impressed. Ahh, piped music to every room, Pay TV to every room, it's going to be just like living in a resort. Bliss!!! G'day to all the Judes and get well wishes to all still under the weather. 'Waves enthusiastically north, south, east & west* Lew Lew xxx

Hi Susan, if they are pps files, you will need to download a free copy of Power Point Copy and paste the whole lot with no spaces When you get future pps files as attachments in your email, they should open automatically. I'm emailing the site separately. Jood

Afternoon all Wattlers, I've just spent some time deleting old answers on threads because I go back up to full speed again tomorrow so I don't want to waste my limit :) Welcome back Mary. I've felt a couple of very minor earthquakes (one in Liverpool NSW and one here in Canberra), and that was enough for me! Jude3, glad your feeling better. SUSIE Q I don't have word and I couldn't open quite a few emails. You need to click the 'save attachments' heading when you go to open an attachment. BUT remember where you save it to! Then close your email (or minimise) and open your saved document. That takes care of the 'find association' bit. If you have the program needed it should then open it from the saved position. If you don't have the program, sometimes the computer asks you if you want it to find you a program. Then you will have to download it. Hope this isn't complete double dutch :) Someone else might be able to explain it better. IT'S FRIDAY.......... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny

Afternoon Wattlers, sorry have to be quick its 4.55pm and I supposed to be closing down computer for the day, have just finished reading the usual 'war & peace' for the day (in other words we all talk a lot!!). Had such a busy day don't whether I'm arthur, martha or Jude! Had to go the oestopath for some manipulation of my thoracic spine - was supposed to help my hernia - and it has! Don't care how it works as long as it does. But have felt sooo relaxed since 2.00pm its been hard to function (no comments please!) Ken would say whats different - its Friday afternoon. Glad to have another Jude back , and Mary safe and well. Now you are exhausted from all that h****work you had to catch up on. I'm sure Hong Kong will fix Jude up. lol Glad to hear you are ok Anna - funerals are never really good,( apart from catching up on relatives you only seem to see at these sad occasions.) but part of life unfortunately. Hello to everyone, waves - catch you tomorrow. Jude 3

Hi Wattlers, We are getting some much welcome rain and it is much cooler. Yesterday we went on to the Gold Coast. Our electricty was off from 8.30am to 2.30pm, because our neighbours were having new cables put across to their new house site, so we thought it was a good excuse to go out. We took our dog and went for a walk along the broadwater then had some fish and chips. It was a nice change. Yes Tony, I do trust you, just as hope everyone will trust me when it is my turn to buy the ticket. But then I am a very trusting person by nature and if I ever got back all I had lent out I wouldn't need to buy a lotto ticket. By the way Tony , how is your Mum? At the moment I am having problem with my tree. I have two people who turn out to be the same. It looks like there is an inter marriage somewhere. Cousin's getting married and it has really thrown every thing out. Now, now, no rude remarks about my sanity, it was almost 2 hundred years ago and I think it may have been along a different branch. Anyway, I have now got to learn how to merge duplicates or try to do it all manually. It's times like this that i wish I were more computer literate. I notice that some of you don't have works. I don't either, my PC was loaded with Star office when I bought it and there are some things in emails that I can't open without finding a file association in file folder. All this is double dutch to me. Can anyone help.????? I saw Sunrise this morning, and i think that it is a wonderful thing they are doing, getting tradesmen up to Innisfail. It's is hard to imagine what they are all going through. We once had our roof blown off in a gale force wind when we lived in Devon. It was very frightening. The fire brigade came out and put tarps up for us. Unfortunately the same night Neville's father died and next day we had to travel up to Yorkshire. It was a very difficult time for us. I have been really enjoying the games, but I am also glad that they are coming to an end. It must be a great atmosphere in Melbourne and next weeekend you also have the Grand Prix, which I must admit is more our sport. Neville was a racing mechanic and we used to be part of a formula 3 racing team, it was a good time in our life, we got to visit lots of places in Europe as we travelled with the formula 1 teams. We don't follow it as much now, we are happy to watch on TV. Well, I hope that everyones colds and viruses are getting better, flu vaccines should be on everyones to do list, we will be getting our 's soon. Also it seems that their have been a lot of funerals lately, let's hope there are no more for a while. That's one of the worst parts of getting old, losing our friends and family. On a happy note, there seems to be alot of new arrivals among our wattle family, so heres to many more. Well, I must go and sort out my John's, the cousin thing. All my toes and fingers are crossed for tomorrow, Love to all SuzyQ

Hi everyone. Just back for a quick hullo as I have a good deal of work to do..Its good to be home and I had a good holiday.. Didnt get my earthquake and am annoyed that I missed 3 as they were felt in the area that I had just left the day before. Then when we left the next place they had one also.. I just cant win.Same thing happened last year when we were over there. The plane trip was nice as they have put on Air Busses in place of the 737s and they are much more roomy. Weather was good except for the last 2 days when it rained.. Nice cool temps. Now to catch up where I can... Jude in Melb. Have a really great time in Honkers and hit those shops.. Remember Christmas is not far away... Tony Thanks for the Lotto numbers.. I bet Melb. is buzzing and while in NZ I tried to see as much of the games as possible but they concentrated on all the NZ people and I missed a lot of what the Ozzies were doing. You sound like you had a good day out with the kids and I bet they enjoyed it. Hi Shazz. Glad to be back and hope you are OK Anna Sorry to see your news. Hope the family are OK and especially your daughter. Lara.. How are you mate.. I did have a good time and best of all none of us got sick and that was a relief as we couldnt get insurance for John. Came home to a lot of work to do and it has taken me all morning to clean out the freezer which I defrosted before I left but some bugger shut the lid and it went all mouldy..Still it looks all shiny again now...Wish I could go to the Genealogy Fair with you..what a great opportunity to get help and advice .Could you find out if they are having one in Sydney at all.. Would love to go.. Make sure you and Wilson wear different clothes this time for lunch as the waiter will recognise you and warn the others how you do musical tables...You will get a reputaion...If Eddington is a hot bed of sin it certainly isent now.. Dead old hole...nothing there but the cemetary...dont forget to pay it a visit.. bet some of your relies are buried there. Joodles.. Thanks for the welcome.. We will have to arrange a lunch when her magesty gets home.. do you know when that will be...Hope you are well. did I read that you are having some test done??? Hi Lew.. Nice to meet you.. You sound like the fine stature of nuts we have for members here..LOL Keep up the good work... Well sorry I cant keep going but its good to be chatting again and will be back soon. Hi Chris.. Lovely to see you,, Hope you visit often.. For those of you who dont Christine she is a lovely lady who was on this site a little while ago and some of you will remember her.. Hi Wafflers, just finished catching up on all the office work I've neglected over the past few weeks. Now I can think about my next trip. Hubby is having a blokes weekend in Adelaide, watching the car racing and wandering around the pits drooling over the cars. I'm off to Geelong tomorrow to collect my mum and then MIL so we can get on a 7.30 am flight to Sydney sunday morning. Daughter no1 arrives from UK at 9am. We are spending 2days together then putting Mum &MIL on plane back to Melb then Daughter no2 and I fly to HongKong for 2days shopping with Daughter no1 (got that....lol) Which means I'll be back thursday lunchtime, exhausted and with a very worn out plastic card. And no Tony I'm not packed, I wont need to take much, have to leave with empty case so I can bring a full one home, although the girls will undoubtedly have much more than me. I've already been warned that they intend to help me spend...lol Hope all the sickies are ok today, talk to you later Jude2

The city is a Buzz with excitement, and looks very different from the ol Melb. as i know it. ( Thought i was in Vegas )...lol Food prices are expensive, but that figures. Walking across the Swanston street Bridge, and looking down at the Yarra at the Fish...( Boats shaped like fish ) with water spraying up, in unison to the sound of the music, with colored lights flashing everywhere. The grandkids were amazed at all that was going on around them. Security people were lined up right across the bridge, edging people on, ( keep moving please )as not to block off the pathways. It was shoulder to shoulder at times. Never seen so many people in Melb City at the one time. Not a real lot happening for the kiddies, but more cultral, and music bands everywhere for the young and the ol...ol....ol......mature...:>))....The weather was warmish, and it was a good night to sit on the banks of the Yarra, and feed up on Ice creams, and take Photo's, while listening to all the music. Morning all Bugger! I typed a whole post, tried to add the message and it disappeared! Gone into cyberspace! Bugger! I'll write it on the notebook this time and save it - I will overcome the genes demons no matter what!! As I was saying ..............! Welcome back Mary and Jude 2 - do tell us about your holiday adventures. Yesterday the funeral went really well. Everyone united in sorrow for the passing of a lovely lady. My daughter coped well and was pleased she had beeen able to attend and say goodbye - closure for her. Saucepans!! Reminded me of long ago when my brother and I were 12 and 10. For some reason, our parents had to go out and we were left home alone - something that they NEVER usually did! The feeling of freedom went to our heads and for some daft reason, we decided to make toffee! Wretched stuff stuck to the saucepan like cement and we couldn't get it out! We didn't know what to do so to save ourselves from mother's wrath, we hiked up into the bush and buried the saucepan. Mum could never work out what happened to that saucepan - I think she secretly thought that Dad had it hidden somewhere with nails in it! She always said that if the Queen came to visit and put her crown down, Dad would have nails in it before she had time to blink and eye! We never ever told her what we did with the saucepan! Hope things in Nth QLd improve now with Peter Cosgrove heading the clean up - he is a wonderful leader. Trust everyone is getting better - I'm sure we must pass the virus on through the computer! Have a good day Anna

I hope Wilson knows where that is folks cause if you hear about 2 weird sheilas driving around Bendigo looking lost yes it will be us hehe but then couldn't possibly be as weird as the rellies I'm going to look for they are the pits, eh Tony ? Unless of course having children to dead people was quite normal in the days of yore and naming them all with different surnames and changing the mother surname everytime another is born maybe they were just like all the other people who lived in Eddington we'll find out if it was the hot bed of sin it seems to be on sunday all will be revealed LOL Goodnight folks see you all tomorrow , love Lara

Hi Wattlers cant believe what I just did. Thought I'd cook hubby a nice piece of lamb backstrap marinated in garlic and red wine to have with salad for dinner. Put meat in pan and came to read up on all the happenings on the puter....forgot meat. That set off the smoke alarm, which dials the alarm company, who ring to make sure everything is ok and ask for my code word which of course I cant remember. After going through all the family names then the pets we finally agree on a word and they turn the alarm off, but not before the neighbourhood has arrived to check up on us. So now I feel like a dil and the kids have all had a good laugh. Needless to say hubby is now having pizza for tea....lol Jude2
