Well welcome back Julie. I was wondering what happened to you. You poor thing. Stay warm and get well soon. Perhaps a stint in the Naughty Corner will fix you! There's a mexican theme there at the moment and a bit of tequila might be just what the doctor ordered. The moving has started and there's boxes everywhere. It's just like Christmas! Even found the Christmas Tree! Hope all is well with everybody. I'll try to keep up with you over the weekend. Blows kisses to everyone. Lew Lew - The Packing Princess xxx

Good morning waffling wattlers . . . and hello Ozzi . . . . Thank you for all your messages, we had a great trip home, I think the jet lag was surpassed by the hangover. We spent Rays birthday in the air so the crews were serving us champers all the way - got the right royal treatment we did! My mailbox has been going hard at it downloading for ages this morning, and that is after I had gone thru and deleted a lot off ther server - Lots of it is Rays work though as he had his mail duplicated in mine with all the problems we were having. Everything happens for a reason, he didn't get to do as much work as he had planned, so he had to holiday more (and do family history). Last Friday travelling back to Kent from Kew Archives with Debs and her hubby Peter, Ray was heard to tell Peter 'Sad thing is, I am really starting to enjoy this research stuff' (Peter was our taxi - dropped us off and picked us up). Time to go get hubby off to work but I have been up for a couple of hours and caught up with a few pages of the thread - so will be back later. Considering we left here on the 1st March, thats the month gone - a twelth of my year - scarey thought isn't it ! It feels like it has gone quickly, but then it seems ages ago that we arrived in Frankfurt to the snow storm. Nice to be back cheers all luv Laurie

Anna my granddaughter is the same and will be ringing my daughter to mke sure no camera as Holly is 10 going on 18 and very intelligent but probably naive too in worldy things although talking to her the other night om msn and gave her a warning about if anyone tried to speak to her as she said a boy did while they were on the gold coast and she got the message nan ok Its cool I wouldn't ever go anywhere with any one as I said what did the boy say how old was he she said' well about 12 and he asked us my friend and I would we go to the games room with him', and I freaked and said 'where was your mother and she said 'well she was with us of course nan you don't think she would leave us alone do you ' lol so a case of nan being over cautious probably but that show on Oprah really made me so sad and scared for all the kids because they're are so vunerable. Peta that's ok mate just didn't want you getting all confused like the rest of us on here all of us have CRAFT, call me what you like just don't call me late for dinner lol. Oops sorry Lara. Realised about the wrong spelling after I posted it. Didn't have time to correct. I'm in Sth Aust, bout 25km out of Adelaide. It's about 10.30pm here, just kicked hubby of so I could get on for a short while. I have broad band here, don't know what I did without it. We are on the fartherest point for the exchange, so have had a few problems with drop outs, but telstra changed some things and it's not so bad now. Still happens occasionally but it's rare. Had to get a new printer tonight. The one we had decided it had, had enough. Was cheaper to get a new one than try to get it fixed. Where on earth do these service centre's get their pricing from? Well must go. catch you all later. Peta :)

Good evening Wattlers Public holiday here today for the show - didn't go though. Instead we went for a lovely walk with the bushwalking club and had a picnic lunch afterwards - most enjoyable as we had a tiny sprinkle of rain early this morning which cooled the air and made the gum trees smell wonderful. I've probably missed you Gwenda but hope you have a successful trip to Adelaide. Happy hunting!! And hope you work out how to operate the digital camera. Suzy Q - you will not know yourself with broadband - it is fantastic. So much quicker and more convenient. You will probably spend more time on the boards though!! Lara - msn is a real worry for us as our daughter spends a lot of time on there. It is how the kids communicate these days and I hate it. They are losing the skill to talk face to face. If it's not MSN it's text messages. So impersonal I think. We do keep a close watch on it but with all her peer group doing it it is a constant battle. Devly - good on you for doing so well with the diet. Give yourself a big pat on the back. You must be feeling like a new woman with the hair and all. Laurie ??????Coooooeeee!!!! Get out of bed and talk to us!!!! Lew - hope the packing is going to plan and that you haven't packed hubby in a body bag yet! Trifley - It's very sad the bitching that happens on the general boards. I can't understand how people can be so unkind to one another. For some people the boards are a very big part of their lives due to personal circumstances and I think they try to wield power over others by creating fights and nastiness. I'm glad we have our little peaceful haven in here - everyone is so nice and so supportive of each other. Thanks Tony for forwarding our lucky numbers. Tony - if we win my hubby will knock you over in the rush to buy a big telly!! We already have two perfectly adequate TV's but no - he wants an enormous one! Oh well - I'd be able to get a better look at Toby on Dancing with the Stars! He's my favourite! Although I fancy Noeline's partner Camillo a bit also! Hello to everyone else - waving to everyone I haven't mentioned Cheers Anna

Wilson, I have Legacy (and another family History program) - I have the paid version, there is a free version also. If you have the paid for version, you just click on Internet in the top line, and then 'Check for Legacy Update', if there is an update, it just comes down and goes into your program, you dont have to do anything (maybe reboot at the end, but it would tell you). You shouldnt have to go on line to update it. I dont know why you would have got a corrupt file. My family history is in another file, and is not affected by the download. Jood

Hi Joodles I am using Legacy, love the program and just want to up date it. I used to just download from the internet the new update, but last time i did that, i ended up with a corrupt file and have been a bit shy of direct downloads since then. It took me ages ( like a couple of months) to get into my family tree file and even though i had eveything backed up to disc, because my program had a problem i couldn't get access my info. Took phone calls and emails to the US to rectify the problem, so not keen to go down that ally again. I thought i had lost all the years of work that goes into family research. I am much more careful now and have hard copies of everything. Trifley, i have to agree this is a lovely thread, i hate it when i can't check in for a few days. Take care Wilson

Afternoon Everyone, Sore feet, tired bones.......can't wait til my next day off, was on a late, early (get home at 22.30 and leave at 0630), early again tomorrow, ......go numbers........ thanks Anna for buying the chance to retire ticket. I haven't been on for a couple of days, so hope everyone is well. I am on dial up too, and would love broad band......one day. I have had a couple of positive hot matches, so added with my lucky break from the Bendigo fair, i have soooo much tree to work on, can't wait to get a chance to get to it. Plus I bought an update to the family tree program i use and need a work free day to load it on. The program designer suggests that i delete the old prog and then load on the updated one. He says that the computer will hang on to the info on the old prog. Has anyone done this and is it true. I think i would find him and kill him if i lost any info, lol. I have backed up on about five discs, so should be alright, but still nervous. Nice to hear everyones news. Take care all catch up again soon, Wilson

Hi SuzyQ, Yes it's Glenda blowing like crazy over in the west and not me this time - lol I had one named after me a few years back - was good and didn't cause too much damage. Haven't done any packing yet - but have done a folder of family info. Daughter has just got her birthday pressie off layby - digital camera - so she is playing around with that. I'm taking it with me so I will have the whole drive to SA to read the manual and hopefully understand how to use it. Gotta go, still lots to do. I'll be back next Tuesday, so keep the messages short or I'll never catch up. Good luck to all the footy followers - may your team have a win. Hope I'll be CROWing but Tony won't be happy if I am - lol Take care everyone, cu next week Gwenda

Good Afternoon all, I think we may have the lucky numbers this week., but if not, we must have them for the week after. It's 21 million. or is it the week after/ I am really looking forward to broadband. At the moment I can play a card game while waiting for a page to come up, it's very frustrating. I was told to ring back the middle of next week to organise it, as the exchange won't be ready until the 31st. Then it will take about a week. It will be good to have the phone line free, and it won't cost any more than I pay now, because I won't have the phone calls. Also I get it half price for 9 months, so infact it will be cheaper. Also I get more downloads. Are you home yet Laurie?? Wakey Wakey. Have you thawed out yet? Yes Mary, Neville is okay. How is John? Devely, you are so good. I would like to loose about 15kilos but I am not very good at sticking to a diet. Neville and I are going to see a dietician next week, but what I would really like is a personal chef and a trainer thown in. Who knows, if we win my dream might come true. It's another sunny day here, started out a bit cloudy. Rain forecast for tomorrow so i hope that it comes. We seem to be getting battered from both sides, last I heard was that Gwenda ( sorry Glenda ) had been dowgraded. I hope everyone comes through this one okay. Hope everyone is fine, Good Luck with the move Lew. I would love to move but it all seems like too much just now. Hope you all have a great weekend Love SuzyQ

Mary - you missed some of our pages while you were away. LewLew has asked us up to camp on her property in Mudgee in February when her OH is away. Remember she was going to organize a drive in for us? And you were going to run round with your torch - hahaha But we will definitely get to the Casino soon - as soon as HM arrives home and gives us a date. Mary, we didnt get samples, only some of the people in the front row (plus all the male staff who rushed up!). The recipes are in a book obtainable from supermarket $2.95 - I'll find it and give you the name of it. It would be about a month later than the show tho, I'd imagine. Jood

Hi Peta Nice to see ya back.. Hope your son finds a job soon.. it is a bit of a worry isnt it..glad you are having a little success with the tree, wish I could do the same but my head is getting flatter by the day hitting it against the brick wall. Joodles.. Did you enjoy the TV show.. and did you get to sample some of the food.. I find that show frustrating as they dont have enough time to tell you what they are doing ..It all seems so rushed ...Glad you got a email from Michael,, pity he didnt get in touch while he was here.. but never mind..as long as he had a good holiday...perhaps we will see him on here soon.. Lara Nice to see ya girl.. hope you are looking after yourself.. Leah. I have a site where peeps in NZ will do lookups for you. It is in Auckland I think..I will find it and let you know..I dont know of any site like GR in NZ but if you know where they lived in NZ try googling the town and the council will have the records of the cemetary on their books and my be able to help..
