Many thanks for the warm welcome messages. Have had a few different suggestions re getting my 'name' sorted out and hope this latest one from Mary will work as the others didn't seem to. Anyhow, fingers crossed, maybe that should be eyes and everything else as well? Looking forward to the 10th June in town. I'm getting a brand new Barina sedan. They've only just been released! Should be able to pick it up on Wednesday. Nice shiny silver one. (and with '06 compliance plates) I've been given strict instructions I have to keep this one clean and tidy so I've ordered some cute little rubbish containers for it. After having a dead radio for a few years it will be lovely to have music again - controlled from the steering wheel no less. Best go and do a bit of something else, as I've been on 'the Machine' all day. Best wishes to all and hope everyone who's poorly wakes tomorrow feeling well again.

Evening All, Well I have done it!!!!!!!! New family tree prog up and running. Can't wait to test it out. Went out to the farm today to do a few pre sowing jobs, get some equipment ready for when it rains, ....or should i say if it ever rains. I keep reading on the wattle how it is raining somewhere and get quite jealous. This could be our last year as farmers if we don't get a good year....enough of that, me and mine are fairly healthy and that is the most important. Hope your injury is on the mend Lara, you will have to get your OH to give you a rub. Fingers crossed for our numbers, make that everything crossed. Lew Lew, hope your shifting is not wearing you out too much, it can be so tiring. So much to do .......and then the cleaning involved, both the house you move from and then the house you move to. OK i off to rub any lucky charms i can find, ........Go numbers.......... Night All

hello again all, No Joodles I know Pat as she lives near Hervey Bay and yes we call in to Hervey Bay on the way home or up every year , Pat drops in every now and then, hello Pat how's the weather up there ? But I do wish the girl who lives up near Emerald , inland from Rockie would come on and put me out of my misery does anyone else remember her please or was it a figment of my imagination . Has anyone done any worthwhile research lately other than Laurie I'm in a bit of a rut at the moment can't think what to to do next with not much enthusiam either as everywhere I go I am hitting a brickwall, so frustrating that I have back to 1695 on some uk peeps but can't find the ones here. I have to be more broadminded meaning even though my Samuel said his parents were from Tasmania , I will start looking everywhere but there as he wasn't exactly a truthful person sometimes , same as the Walsh 's I had that said they were born in the UK well no they weren't, they were born in Fremantle WA and everyone said don't trust things in IGI but in this case they were right and even thought the births weren't in W.A. BDM that is where he was born, as apparently it was not compulsory to register the babies births so some didn't . I found a message .from a rellie who I have known about for years and have tryed to get in touch with , on a message board and emailed her but still havn't heard from her, curses, and also sent of a request to a historical society and no answer from them either , feel very sick of the ancesters who don't want to get found and their descendants too who don't seem to be interested in from whence they came loving it so much I can't understand this at all . Anyway will go and send this girl another email and see what happens, bye Love to all Lara

Evening Wattlers! The Princess of UnPacking checking in! Well day one has gone smoothly. The rain has stayed away, although it has been very windy today. All of the boxes that were in storage have been emptied and my body is very tired. A couple of good friends dropped in this afternoon bringing afternoon tea, fresh anzac biscuits and warm banana bread with them. Geoff then helped Terry move some heavy stuff and Pam insisted on doing broom duty while I continued unpacking. That girl is wonderful! Back out again tomorrow moving all of our clothes and personal items that we've had with us in the Villa. I must say, having the use of our fully self-contained Villa has been a godsend. It enabled us to put 'everything' into storage and now we can just move out and leave everything behind. Now, Lara, you be careful. Don't overdo things. You've got to be fit and well for your upcoming Meet. Hope our Julie is okay. Chicken soup is what she needs and lots of hugs. (((O))) Nice to see some more new faces here. I feel like I've been here forever, but it's only been since January! A special welcome to Pam in Birriwa. As we're almost neighbours, maybe we can meet for a coffee in Dubbo one day. Babs, don't worry about a cyclone getting me. I'm about 260km nw of Sydney on the Great Dividing Range, which is a mountain range which almost runs the full length of the east coast of Australia. I'm also too far south for cyclones. Heard from that son of your's yet? Wishing us all good luck for tonight's Lotto draw. Will try and catch up with you all again tomorrow. *waves to all her friends, blows kisses and starts whistling the Wattle anthem, knowing her singing voice leaves a lot to be desired* Lew Lew xxx

Welcome Pat, Pam and sunny Pam - you are just trying to confuse us (which is not hard to do!) It's lovely to see some more Aussies adding to the thread. Only a few hours now until we know our fate!! Bye for now Anna Exits singing the Wattle anthem very robustly!

Patricia – Lara felt there was someone else in Qld who had posted a msg once, and she couldn’t remember where they were from . But I don’t know if it was you, or what – it doesn’t matter, we are very happy to welcome you to the thread. Actually I think Lara goes up to Hervey Bay on holidays occasionally. I’m sooo glad Im not the only one who doesn’t follow football – whatever kind, but then I don’t follow cars either :-(( And hi to Pam from North of Brisbane – the meet is on 10th June I believe, in Southbank somewhere – Our resident unresistrebel invis-rebel is organizing it – and we’d love you to come – the more the merrier. Since our leading lady Lara is ailing this weekend with pulled muscles (poor babe), I will take it upon myself on her behalf, to ask Edith (Canada) Patricia (Qld) Pam (Birriwa NSW) & Pam from Nth of Brisbane to let us all know your birthdates (you don’t have to put the year of birth) As there are now two Pams, we better get you sorted out. Pam from Nth Brisbane, to change your name, type the Sunny Pam in the christian name section – just take your surname out and put a full stop – that should fix it. Pam what sort of new car are you getting next week? Vonny - that Sahara Trek story is rivetting - I was most interested in the Shewee pmsl Jood

Hi I am still here, I think that you put the Sunny in for your first name and Pam for your surname. Hope that works SuzyQ

Well that didn't work. Any suggestions please? I want to show a name without surname being included but everything I've tried so far has failed. I'm sure someone can tell me what to do (without being rude, of course) bg

Hello everyone. Just dropped in to catch up on what's been happening. Don't get on here too often so there were an awful lot of listings to read!! Caught the fact that a Brisbane meet-up is on the cards which is great. I live just north of our great Capital and would love to join in if that's OK? Any ideas yet as to what, where etc.? Look forward to putting faces to names (I think) :-)) Mostly blue skies here at the moment, with a good strong breeze - ideal weather for drying the washing - ugghh. So I suppose I'd better go and do some. Have to clean out the garage too, ready for my NEW car which arrives next week. Yippeee.

Hi again, You snuck in there Laurie. I agree with you about the money sports people earn, well some of them. Michael Schumaker earns $60 million a year. Why on earth would he need all that money. I can remember when car racing was for any one who had a car. We used to go most weekends and the drivers went in the car they were racing. If they crashed they just got a lift home with some one else. Also the olympics were for amatuers, but the eastern block countries spoilt all that. I think one of the best ever all round athletes was Dailey Thompson the decathalete, his record has only recently been broken. Any money that he earned from advertising went into a trust for when he retired and he had to struggle to get to meets. They are the true sports people, they did it for love. Sorry, will get back off my soap box. Bye for now SuzyQ

Afternoon All, Lara, I hope that you are resting, do you need some one to raise your glass to your lips, or can you manage. Seriously, take care, if it isn't better by Monday you should visit your doc. I am a non footie girl. Wouldn't know AFL from NRL. I too prefer motor racing. Are you watching today Devily. Welcome Pam in Birriwa. Hope you drop in often, some of us are quite sane occasionally. Everyone is helpful when you need it, from family problems, health to family tree research. I can vouch for all of that. I hope it isn't compulsary to sing the anthem at the QLD meet. If I sing we will be thrown out for sure. Rebs, not sure yet if Neville will be chauffering me to the meet, but if he does, he won't hang around, unless any one else's hubby does. I think we are getting Melbourne weather at the moment. Yesterday it was cold and wet nearly brought out the winter woolies. Last night we had a terrific storm, even got a little bit of hail. This morning it was very cold, lunch time blowing a gale and now it's hot and sunny. Laurie, did you manage to get in any sight seeing? And what was the weather like. You will have plenty to keep you busy now, it must have been worth the trip. Lew, I hope that the move is going well and hope you get hooked up to the internet soon. Mary, take care, you sound as if you are overdoing it again. Just take one day at a time. To everyone else, have a good week end. Keep your fingers crossed for tonight. Love SuzyQ

Afternoon all - what started out as a glorious sunny day here on the bay turned into a cool gusty windy one around lunch time. But the show goes on . . . planes keep on flying in and out and ships in and out of the harbour - there are a few nuts on sailboards over near the airport, and some even bigger nuts out there fishing. I have been keeping myself occupied doing FH while the patient watches the motor sport . . . and . . . . Joodles & Vonny I wont tell if you dont - I dont like football much myself - discouraged my boys too (with their height they had to be basketballers) - strange really because from a real RL family with a cousin who was a top A grader for years (even legend status) and as we were in the inner social circle at the police academy in Brisvegas for years we know a lot of Bris players/staff well . . . but I still didn't follow their game of slaughterball ! I'll even be brave enough to say I think it is obscene the amount of money top sportsmen and women are paid to play their games - all of them ! Ouch . . . stop it . . . leave me alone you bullies . . whos throwing bottles and things at me!!!!!! Back to nuetral corner now, was in NSW bdm earlier and they have a notice up to say the online service will be unavailable for a short time on Monday morning for maintenance . . . Fingers crossed they are going to add on to the births and bring it up past 1905 . . . . Lara, take it easy girl - what on earth have you been doing ? Get medical assistance if your having trouble breathing ! If your not breathing properly to stop pain it could get nasty - advise from someone who ended up with pnemonia from bruised ribs. Time to make my patient a cuppa so catch you all later cheers luv Laurie
