Evening all, getting a little chillier here - I think we are going to get some winter after all. Glad you didn't freeze in Canberra Joodles. You will never guess what a good wife I am . . . today I was going to the Antique Fair (like the roadshow on tellie), anyway, hubby mentioned he had forgotten the caravan and camping show was on - so I took him there instead . . . saint aren't I - and I even had my bag packed with the goodies to be appraised - you got to have two items per entry ticket and I had four treasures picked out . . . Like I said . . . S A I N T (bloody insane more like it !!!) So I walked around Rosehill racecourse pretending that I was enjoying myself - well he is taking me to Yarrawonga next weekend! Welcome back Jude the Travel addict, so glad you had a good time - thats it . . . . I have to go to Edinburgh, sounds like my kind of place. Isn't it amazing to actually touch and feel history up close and personal. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Louvre and the diverse range of art pieces, but the richness of the Rubens in Windsor castle and the sheer number of them was mind blowing, they got me right in, I felt like I was in another era. Glad you got to see the balloons Gwenda, I had heard wether had hamper things a bit during the week. Lew, how come you go further west to Dubbo for your big shop - wouldn't there be better shopping in Bathurst and Orange ?? Seems strange to me - mainly because growing up in Cobar we went to Dubbo every six months for the dental checkups and the big shop and mum always dreamed of going to Orange instead. Glad we dont have to worry about Lotto winnings this week, I have lots to do - Anzac march Tuesday and off on Friday, so only three days to do heaps of things !!! Plus we didn't have any champers on ice - (writes note to look into that) Rebs, lots of mine are missing off 1841 too . . . but I did find a couple of things that have opened some doors. I've had the Kent 41 disc since Christmas so had a big slice of mine already solved - but nice to get some more out of the way. Back to the elect rolls for me - not as informative as census, but a good way to track movements. Welcome back Sandra - you were missed, hope you are OK now - I think most of the country could do with a good drenching - lets start with Goulbourne, - sending rain making thoughts that way! Mike should have let us know you were not well . . . BAD MIKE !! Suzy - if you come up with a good solution to the filing can you let me know - Ray would be ever so pleased !!! Actually its not my system that is at fault - but me - I tend to need to have so many 'working documents' close at hand that it ends up a big mess - I remeber how organised I was when I shared a desk with the boys, had to put everything away all the time - but I have no desire to share again! Ray keeps saying how come you have all this stuff around you - I got you a nice new filing cabinet! Had conversations over the weekend with my newly discovered cousin (to the power of three) - Stu, as we unravel our families it is so strange the number of things we have in common. His wifes nan is from West wyalong will have to work out if any of the family out there know her. Anyway have waffled on enough - need a coffee fix cheers luv Laurie |

I'm here Miss Travelly Jude - I have just returned from my small <by comparison to your trip> weekend away in Canberra. I did wonder how you were going, and I was interested to hear about the underground city. To you Canberrrans, I wasn't at all cold down there, but while I was away it apparently was very cold in the mountains, and I'm actually shivering here now ..... guess I better put some heating on. It was minus 4 during last night and 4 at 8.30, ...... but honest, I was in short sleeves, and it wasn't till I got on the bus I got cold, as the aircon hadn't warmed the place up. I phoned JA up, but we were unable to meet this time. We did chat a while tho. Hey !!! ...................................... I did see a hot air balloon (it was an engineer one - Army) - I guess it was something to do with Anzac Day. ........ Saw 'our brothers' camped outside the old Parliament House. Couldnt get over how many darn traffic lights there were everywhere, tho I must admit the roads are lovely and wide, and well marked signs. It is 36 years since I have lived there, so a lot of changes. Had a wonderful time with Laurie on the Friday, hearing all about her trip, and the family history things she found out. ........... You will love her, all you lucky people going to Yarrawonga. Jude 3 - are you off on another holiday so soon, or did you mean to Yarrawonga? I'm only unpacking my case to get the washing out, as I'm off on another trip next weekend, the weekend I should have been going to Yarrawonga :-(( Hello girls - glad to see you back Sandra. Hiya Tony - you eating Tatie chips again - shame on ya, you shouldn't mention them when I am around. Jude (oh sorry, wrong name, Jood) |

Evening Wattlers, I think I can finally think straight, slept until the phone rang at 12 today so the jetlag isnt too bad now. So did anyone even miss me? Our trip was great but very busy. OH had never been to the UK before so we did a whirlwind tour of London, went to Paris for a day and Edinburgh for a day. We saw Tony & Cherie (well a quick glance as they were rushed out of their car) Every where was busy being Easter hols and there were long queues so we didnt have time to go on the Eye or into the Louvre, so they will have to wait til next time. The highlight of the trip (except for spending time with our daughter) was a walk through the underground city of Edinburgh, absolutely amazing. Just off the Royal Mile they have found parts of the old city from the 15th century. Apparently a one time the buildings were 5 stories high, the richer you were the higher you went, the poor lived on the street and had to live with those above them tipping all their garbage and chamber pots out of the windows (nice) Then in the1800s the top 3 floors were chopped off and the existing town was built on top leaving complete streets buried in tact. When you love history like me it really brings it to life. I gather we didnt win lotto, never mind I need some time at home before I take off again. We must be meant to win a hugh jackpot. Hope you all had a good easter and the bunny found you. Back to the grind tomorrow, my house looks like someone dropped a bomb. Why is it the kids cleaning is never as good as mine, they try but it just isnt the same. Jude2 |

Hi Gwenda I have a filing system of sorts. I got a plastic crate (on wheels)about 16ins by 12ins by 16ins deep. I have Graeme's family print-outs, current work etc in a blue folder and mine in a pink folder. The crate also contains back-up file discs, A4 envelopes with major inviduals info (labled on front), book with web addresses, family tree programme and 2 photo albums. The albums have a photo of me & Mark on one and Graeme & Mark on the other. These contain print outs of trees to date and important photos. The crate sits just under the desk at my right hand side so I can reach down and retrieve anything I need. The boys know that if there is a fire in the house .... the crate MUST be the first thing saved! This system works for me but perhaps not everyone. Hope this has been of some help. Rebs & Tony......I wish you'd s**t up about fish & potato cakes! I would love some just now. BTW Rebs........Lowndes came second! The other bloke in the red car came first boooo! ~~~waves from royal barge as I sip my sherry Trifley |

Lol Rudes.....you've just managed to earn the girls wrath with one innocent statement. She hates her curls and painstakingly straightens her hair everyday. Half the grocery bill covers shampoo, conditioner and 10 different hair straightening products. Stuff to relax the curls, anti-frizz concoctions, stuff to keep it straight and then stuff to give it shine, cause after all the heat treatment and shi*t in her hair, it looks kind of dead. update........dinner, battered fish, battered tattie cakes. The kids picked them up on the way home from the shop on brighton beach front. Homemade tattie cakes, large, chunky ones. Yum!!! Just near 12th Ave Laurie, if your son likes the odd take-away. |

Hi all, Good to see you back Sandra - take care of yourself and the puta. Lew - 3 numbers was better than none - so head up, tissues away and better luck next time. Joodles - hope you've had a good weekend - weather was speccy - once the morning warmed up - lol On holidays - again - yaaaayyy. Filing tips - to the left of the puta, on top of the printer, on the dining table, on the floor, in a portafile and on the card table. Then there are the files that actually do have stuff in them but never the important bits. If anyone is actually organised I would really like to know their system - pmsl Better go ring my Mum - let her know we are alive and make sure she is. Catch y'all during the week, Gwenda |

Hiya folk, Welcome back Sandra, hope all's well with you now. Good to hear your computer is feeling better as well, I lost the use of mine over Easter, and it drove me nuts. Didn't get to see any of the races Trifley. Telly was unavailable and I got a bit fed up with being indoors so I ordered some tattie cakes, (Rudes fault....again) walked across the park and parked my butt on the rock wall and munched away while I gazed out across the bay, day dreaming for an hour. Very peaceful, and far enough away from the playground area to stay that way. Trouble is though, daughter just phoned up and asked if we could have fish'n chips for dinner. I'm sure my heart and arteries will thank me for the cholesterol. lol!!! Back to the grindstone in the form of marriage indexes. Cheers everyone, love Rebs x |

Hi Wafflers Isn't V8 exciting? Smash, bang, tingle and a wham, bam, thank you to the reverse grid. Everything's ok 'cause Russell stayed clear. I can only hear what is happening in this part of the race 'cause I wet mopped the floors and mopped myself into the computer room. Can't even get to the coffee machine 'til the floors dry. I'll have to plan that better next time. Can't even get on the royal barge from here. Lew Lew....what is garlic mayo like? Sounds yummy. Onion jam? Wouldn't like it on MY toast of a morning but to each his own. Hugs Trifley |

I'll take a look when I've finished with the Cheshire site. It's like having a new toy. lol!!!! Did anyone get the email from Lara about the nursery selling fresh cut penis? Wonder if they're the newly released ones from the dinosaur era? Woolamoo penis? pmsl. Guess someone climbed up to the board and swapped a couple of letters around. It's one of those adds you should send to Rove. Still having a chuckle over it. Cheers babes, love Rebs xxx |

Hi All Rebs you are probably like me watching V8's this afternoon. Dont know if I like this reverse grid, as all the good drivers have to get past all the not so good drivers, a recipe for accident to happen as it did. At least Lowndes got through without any dramas. I am and have always been Ford, I guess some might follow the drivers but I dont. It has taken me ever since Lowndes has came over to Ford from Holden to actually go for him, this is the first year I have. Last year I followed Marcos Ambrose as he was originally a Tassie boy, now he's gone Lowndes was the obvious choice. Cheers Sue |

Good Afternoon Wattlers, No new car this week, never mind we now have another week to look forward to. I have been a very busy girl with the 1841 census, but unfortunately there isn't much information on it. I now have another dillema. Is there any one out there who has a really good filing system. I thought it might be a good idea to do some filing etc, I have even bought different coloured files, but I would like to know the best way to sort all the paper work. Seperate the families etc. All suggestions will be considered, except the one for filing in the waste bin. Some one mentioned Skype. I have used it to talk to my cousin, but because of the time difference it is hard to know when we are both on together. Tony, my cousin, rings me all the time using Skype though. He lodged some money with skype and he them call from his computer to my land line phone. Works out very cheap, he even calls my brother on his mobile. Tony's son and daughter live in Australia, and he has saved himself a fortune in calls. Not much news to tell you, the weather is getting cooler and the nights cooler still. Back to the filing Love SuzyQ |

Trifely........I know, great ain't it. Can't stand Skaife or Ingall. Mind you, I don't where Lowndes came in the last race, so he could well be back there with them. Only problem with Lowndes is he became a Ford driver. I know the comp is still very much a Holden v's Ford mentality, but with all the driver/team changes I think the comp is evolving into a driver fan base as opposed to teams. Just as well, I grew up a Holden girl. lol!! And for the record, I didn't complain about you're singing. I simply retired from the site for the night instead. Besides, my daughter had 6 years of classical training, so I appreciate 'good' singing. Off for more coffee myself, cheers Hon. x Here's the addy for the Cheshire Parish Records site I stumbled on. Brilliant now, and will be even better when it is completed. http://www(.)csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/ |
