Evening Wattlers, hope everyone is fit and well....make that just well, we can't all be fitness freaks. Much cooler here as well, heating is on FOOTY is on GO THE SAINTS. Tomorrow is my weekend, so plan to get some time on the puta to search for dead peeps. Anyone got a good site for finding deaths at sea in the 1800's? This relly (that i met at the cemetary last week) has put doubts in my mind re which Charles Maynard died on the way here, son or father. B****y woman, i felt quite sure i had it pegged, now need to prove i am right he he. I read through most of the last couple of days of thread, ...love catching up on whats happening, but then am too worn out to add much. I also seem to spread papers around me that i just want to check something on before filing :-))). Ok have to go, almost time for this tired old bird to go to bed. Take care all |

Evening Waffling Wattlers . . . Well we had a sunny but cooler day her today, those giraffes are pretty idle, had 9 heads skywards today, the breeze I will call a wind, as I'm sure did those nuts on the kiteboards. Plenty of jumping and diving and bobbing to watch as I sunned with the cuppa on the balcony. Alice in Rebeland, or McAlice in Rebeland or Alice in McRebeland . . . . well done! Glad my late night ravings were an inspiration to someone - didn't do much for me - was getting frustrated - can't find what I really wanted to find on 41! Julie Cat - - - those of us that have a convict in our tree are very proud of them I'll have you know . . Did you watch Mary Bryant - was on tellie in Uk last week I believe - - them that survived, did it tough! Gwenda, all this talk of getting sorted has me on a run too - never know I might just get there!! Have found lots of things today that I forgot I had. I've ended up with stuff everywhere - think I should have stuck to cleaning windows too Suzy Q Joodles, you are allowed to change your name - just leave the Joodles in there somewhere! I think maybe the Trifle has too much grog in it . . . . the cakes gone all soggy !!!! Nice to see you back Cilla - hope you can make it to Brisvegas on 10th - be lovely to catch up with you. Oh Jude TA . . . the joys of being a parent to the broken hearted - our eldest had love of his life give him back the ring just before the marriage and she married someone else a few weeks later . . . two years ago . . . he still doesn't trust - I could pull her hair out a million times for the damage she did! I know, better that she didn't go thru with marriage, I never did want her for a daughter, but she could have done it better and sooner! Tony, I think you'll find that Von has laready left home, and plans on buying the Lotto when she gets to Yarrawonga so Lara can show her how to do it - might have to scan on Laras puter and get them off from there !!! Your description of the cockys in the tree brought pictures of 'The rains are 'er' that corn add !!!! Well it will be dawn service down at the Brighton RSL in the morning for us, followed by the march in town - so look out for me too Lew - marching with the Ex-Wrans. Made my Anzac bickies today . . . Hi Lara - wondering what you were up to c u there !!! cheers for now all luv Laurie |

You're welcome here any time Julie Cat. There's a Mudgee Meet next Feb, so keep that in mind. If you need any Ancestry lookups, please let me know, 'cause I subscribe and love to research other peoples trees, only because when I hit a brick wall in mine, it eases the pain! Spend a fair amount of time in the Records Office and Trying To Find just mucking around, so let me know if you need a hand. Hey, and that goes to all you guys out there, too. Only too pleased to help. Lew Lew (67 sleeps, 9 Fridays!!!) xxx |

Hello everyone, beautiful day here in Yarrawonga it will great if it stays this nice for the weekend. This is the meet up plan for those arriving Friday and coming to the show at Club Mulwala doors for the dinner and show open at 6 P.M so I suggest we meet in the foyer of the Club at 5:45PM and then all go upstairs together, if you can't be there at that time just come on up stairs to the Auditorium but you must be seated by 6:30PM , also you'll have no problem finding us follow the noise of people talking ninety to the dozen and much hilarity going on. I know Shazz will be there when the show and dinner finishes Shazz nice place to eat it the resturant we were going to before we decided on the show alternitive mate,it's called Diggers and you can sit out side on the balcony (if not too chilly ) and have alovely view out over the lake, and the food is ok too. On Saturday morning you are free to sleep in and meander out here whenever you want after lunch I will give you a mud map on Friday night very easy to find our place for those not staying at the end of my street Gwenda Vonny Shazz. We'll be firing up Barbie at 6 p.m so depends on when you get here how long we have to chat and try and help anyone's Genealogy and Putor problems. Will get back to you all later again got to go now bye Lara |

Ah, Tony, you should know that you gotta be quick when it comes to choccie donuts! Mmm, favourite places in England, Tintagel in Cornwell where King Arthur's castle ruins are is pretty amazing. We also stayed in the Crumplehorn Inn at Polperro, Cornwell - fantastic. York, beautiful. Bath, also fasinating. God, so many places, so little time! Sorry to hear about the daughter's break up, Jude TA. Bloody men! (sorry Tony, you're more like one of the girls!) Hi Cilla. Pleased to hear the eye surgery was successful. My dodgy eye is not one that can be operated on - damn it! Oh well, at least glasses are considered a fashion accessory these days. What's everybody up to for ANZAC? I'll probably spend a lot of time looking up 1841 census, although I always do a bunch of bikkies (chewy not crunchy) and I'll phone my friend who marches with the Vietnam Vets every year, just to let him know I saw him on telly again. Gorgeous sunset in Mudgee as I type. Ah Mudgee, perfect one day, better the next! Hope everybody as a brilliant evening. Lew Lew xxx |

Afternoon Wafflers. O/cast day in Melb. No rain as yet, but dark clouds for most of the day. White Cocky's in groups are feeding in our big Oak tree lined street, and squawking/screeching like mad as they feed off the tree tops and eat the acorns that are high in the branches. The tree's over lap our property and branches hang above our Decking roof, and as they feed the acorns fall and land on the deck roof, and sounds like someone throwing rocks onto the roof. Judy. ( Travel addict ) Thanks for the www mate. I had a look and it appears quite interesting, I also enjoy the history side of these tours. Absolutely dislike old buildings and things that are 20th Century man made to look like 15th - 16th century. It just hasn't got that authentic feeling.Barb and i took one of those open bus top ( hop on & off ) tours in York, and it was great.Even the stuffed black cats that were perched high on the roofs of the shops and window sills had there story to tell. Not that we have been through all of England (Yet ) but would have to say York was my favourite Town, and so much to see. Plus...that's where my Mums side came from ( Richardson ) Vonny. I think its your turn for the Lotto mate...:>)) Will you be able to send a copy of the Lotto ticket to me before Friday mate?....cos i gotta email it to everyone......and Barb and i will also be in Yarrrawonga on Friday arvo, so to do this i need it before Friday...ta The streets around Melb were very quite to-day, but i guess many people would have took off for a long weekend. Might go and make a Coffee, and eat the 'one' chocolate doughnut that Barb has kindly left me, from a packet of six...:>((( Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>)) |

Could prolly even pay them to open speshilly for usses??? Oooooh poor Jude - is your daughter coping ok?? No sign of Laurie or the giraffes around the bay today - oh I know .................. she's flat out looking at the 1841 thingy I bet!!! Gwenda - I would have had a ride on the train, but I was looking for the rest of the group - all spread out around the place, later a g/f said she'd called out to me to come on the train - I didnt see her :-(( Jood |

Afternoon Wattlers, SuzyQ I visited the Yovik centre in the 90s, very informative but as you said man made . I prefer my history 'real' I loved the little old shops in the Shambles in York, you could really imagine people living there in the past. That was what I loved about Edinburgh. For anyone interested this is the website for the tour we took, it shows a few photos and Tony if your interested you should book the day before you want to go to be safe. www(.) realmarykingsclose(.)com Pretty chilly in Melb today, washing isnt drying so I guess the house will look like a chinese laundry tonight.I've finally caught up with all the H....k,it's taken me a while as I've been spending time with daughter no2 who broke up with her boyfriend of 5yrs while we were away. Oh the joys of parenting...how come kids dont come with an instruction book? Will check in again later Jude2 |

Afternoon Wattlers, Trifley, what ever you do, make sure there is no wind when you try to put up the shed. Neville and I put a small shed up for my dad and the weather turned really windy, and the air turned really blue. I am glad that no one had a video camera on us, because we could have made at least 3 episodes of funny videos by our selves. I will say no more on the subject, just be warned. I was certain that a least one of you seasoned genealogists would have had a fool proof filing system. Now I will have to try and sort one out for myself. I have so many duplicate copies of things because I keep forgetting, that before I attempt any more research I need to sort out me papers. I think I would rather clean windows. I am beginning to feel a bit like Cinderella, not going to the ball, the one in Yarrawonga that is. Oh well, not long to the 10th June. Every one seems to be busy with holidays and new babies, and eek ends away. I have been to Edinburgh loads of times, but I didn't know about the underground city. Is it a recent tourist attraction? Has anyone been to the Yovik centre in York. It's a man made thing but interesting. One of the more interesting sites I saw in England, was during a drought when one of the lakes in the Lakes District dried up, and revealled the old Roman roads and bridges, even fences were still intact. We were allowed to walk along them, really took you back. From there we went to Adrian's wall in Northumberland, which also stirs up the imagination. Some one also mentioned Cockington and at first I thought that you meant the one in Devon, but then I realised you meant the model village here in Australia. Any one been to Cockington, Devon, thats really nice, I lived near there for a year in 1979. Well I had better get started on the filing Catch up later Love SuzyQ |
