Mary there were four major outbreaks of typhoid from 1830 to 1836 and an outbreak of cholera from October 1831 to mid 1832. There was also a smallpox epidemic from 1837 to 1840. |

Evening all - Miss Piggy dropping in to say you dont want me to do your sorting for you - I have piles of paper everywhere!!! The names in the family tree are easy to sort - its the social history I have gathered along the way thats made the mess . . . (I know I have a file on epedemics Mary, on a disc - will yell when I get to it) Finding all sorts of things I have collected along the way and forgotten. Trifley, not offering to help move the tub I know how heavy they are, son dropped a wrench when he was doing the washers, and chipped my old claw foot tub big time - it needs to come out and be recoated, but I think after the dramas we had putting it in I will let the professionals come and get it, recoat and reinstall for me - I have vivid memories of friend and I collecting it in a trailer the first time we had it sand blasted and coated! Everyone is getting sicky . . . come on, get stuck into the Vit C (1,000mg per day) and drink plenty of water - take the pressure off your immune system and flush out the bugs !!! Its the darn change of season - hope your all feeling better soon. Lots more chances to have a big win this week, well done Vonny - got the list of certs I want here in front of me - trying to choose which one to order for my weekly fix - it be great if next week I could just say hang it and order the lot! Everything crossed !!! Thanks for sending through the photos - they are terrific Well, night all talk tomorrow cheers luv Laurie |

HI everyone :-) Well the bank holiday's over but the sun hasn't come out of hiding yet :-( Lew hope you're feeling better soon, don't overdo it and don't pass up your excuse for not doing the h*******k lol. Laurie loved the card trick and the guy playing with his balls lol will check the rest out later. It's back to college today for me but a short week this week as well as having yesterday off I'm also off Thursday because of staff training. Lara hope it went ok. Mary there were a lot of epidemics around in the 1800's is typhoid, cholera, TB to name but a few mainly due to bad diets and poor living conditions. Will check my file later to see if anything was around in those years. Better get going I'm going to be late. *waves to all* Juliexx |

Hi all Wattlers, A big get well to Lew, Rebs & Sandra - hope you're all feeling better soon. Lew Lew what were you thinking doing all that work when you weren't feeling the best - you were meant to be resting and enjoying your day off work - lol Mary - we have a garage that needs cleaning out - when are you free? pmsl Laurie - how's your sorting going? You could come and do mine too but you'd have to tidy the dining table before you started - keep saying I will do something about it but it just doesn't happen. The lotto is bought for this week - let's hope some of Vonny's luck has rubbed off. Lara - hope things went well for your M exam. Hope the sun stays shining in your neck of the woods as we are in for more grey stuff by the sounds of it tomorrow. Sun was nice while it lasted tho. Time to think about the next meal and maybe make a start on the ironing later. Have a great night everyone, catch you later Gwenda |

Hi Wattle mob.. It has been a busy day and have just sat down for a rest and called it a day till tomorrow.. Cleaned out the garage of a lot of junk but still more to go but it looks a lot better..Room ready for Unc arriving on friday and raked the leaves up in the front garden and got them on the compost heap went to the shops and did some food shopping and bought a new mobile phone as the old one went back to the archives...ready for the dustbin...and best of all the car people rang up and said the car was here and we can pick it up on friday afternoon...Thank goodness as I just couldnt see 3 big bottoms travelling around the countryside in a little mitsabishi Mirage..plus luggage..very cosy if nothing else.. It seems we have a few ailing peeps here so do take care and stay in bed and keep warm,, Tony Do I start packing ,, with all those games in Lotto we should surely win a good prize...Glad you and Barb had a good time at the meet..Lara is surely the hostess with the mostess...A nicer person is hard to find.. Lara Have you been for your squeezy test..orrible arnt they.. but necessary ,, Hope all the lady peeps on here are doing the same..Loved the Piano .....and didnt have a heart attack,,LOL laughed myself silly.. Laurie Can I bring mine over for sorting too...I have a huge bundle of papers and I keep saying I must eliminate a lot of them but when I go through them to do that I end up putting them all back just in case I need them,,,LOL I have a feeling that I may have a slight hole in my brick wall.. working on it at the moment and will get my uncle to see what I have found and if he agrees. Was there a epidemic in the uk of sorts around the 1825 to 1830s as I seem to have a lot of orphans and widows..making it hard to search.. Sandra Stay well... Everyone else dont breath as it is dangerous .. you may pick up something.. Back later.. Love Maryxx |

Afternoon, Pleased to hear that you are feeling a bit better now Lew Lew. I have been meaning to mention for a while now, if any of you have any microfische records, but no reader, I have one and would be happy to help out. It's one we kept from Neville's last business and it has come in very useful. Laurie, just kidding about victoria's Secret, but thanks for the offer. I think you really just want to embarrass Ray. Bye for now SuzyQ |
