Hi Anna My thoughts exactly about the EEG. I have epilepsy (well controled) and it sounds like that to me. At least Sarah (niece) is the type not to buckle under. She will tell them what she wants in no uncertain terms. She has been know to refer to a spade as a f*****g spade! Prayers to the gods for the miners and little Sophie. Trifley

Hi Trifley I can't see photos or add photos either. Yet Joodles says she can. Don't know what is going on. I think your neice should get her little one to a paediatrician as soon as possible. That is very worrying. Sounds as if he should have an E.E.G. pronto. Poor buggers are still down the mine - let's keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow. Goodnight all XX Anna PS Where is that Rebs?? She'll probably turn up for the next big number!

Evening Wattlers I've just been trying to add some photos of my family artifact (wooden arm) to GC photo page ..........with no luck! I can get on to the site but can't see any photos even my own. I hope they fix the glitch soon, I like help identifying my...uummm....eerrr...aahhh...what ever it is. Had a worrying call from one of my nieces tonight. Her 2 year old son has had 2 strange episodes. He is ok one minute then for no apparent reason he just drops to the ground unconscious. Stops breathing and becomes rigid with his arms curled and his back arched. They live in the middle of no where in Qld. and have seen a local Dr who is baffled. I've suggested she get a referral to a paediatrician in Brisbane. We just have to wait now and see what happens. It could be something simple but when you live more than 1 hour from medical help you can't be too careful. Have a nice evening everyone. I'll check back later regarding the photo page. ~~waves from me on the Barge love Trifley

Nope, I'm still having trouble with GC photos! Very frustrating when I want to have a sticky beak at you all! Very chilly in Mudgee this arvo and I'm sure, 'cause the sky is sooo clear, that we're going to have a frost tonight. The sun is just setting and the hills are surrounded with the most incredible blues through the pinks, a sight I will never tire of. Hubby is cooking a rack of lamb for dinner with cous cous and some other amazing things he has found, so looking forward to that. Boy, he can cook! I agree with you Laurie, but have you seen some of the drivers on the road in their teens, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, etc, etc., who definitely shouldn't have their licences! That's, of course, where the problem lies. Maybe we all need to be a little more active reporting bad driving, no matter what the age, like some of the truck companies advertise on the back of their trucks. If you're not happy with one of their drivers, they give you a number to report them on, so maybe that's one way of policing it. Recently, we had an 18 yo boy die here in Mudgee after 'surfing' on the roof of his mate's ute and falling off! Of course, the driver and 2 other friends will have to live with that for the rest of their lives, but how do you legislate against extreme youth, stupidity, etc. Well, that's my turn on the soap box, so I'd better step down, lol. Hi Laurie, Okay, I think we agree. I thought that I heard them say it was outside her school, my misunderstanding. I ducked just incase. LOL I wonder why you are laughing at new neighbours. Does it sound familiar? Bye SuzyQ

Laurie Report 8 May 2006 07:02

Not throwing anything Suzy Q . . . lol School zones are 40 down here too - but I dont think Sophies accident happened in an actual school zone. I just think there has to be a tick the box test over a certain age to be allowed on the road - both eyesight and reflex, rather than have it down to a Drs opinion - I know my dads Dr was ony thinking of Dad independance when he signed the form - bet he didn't give a thought to if he would like his kids on the road with Dad. It was a very long time before he handed his in that I would get in the car with my Dad driving, its nothing to do with age! I'm getting new neighbours - new folk moving into aptmnt next door - sitting here having good laugh at hubby and wife DISCUSSING getting cupboard through the door! pmsl cheers luv Laurie

Hi Jude2 You wont know yourself with a new printer. You'll be able to print straight from the memory card of your digi camera. I remember when we upgraded years ago from a dot-matrix printer to the inkjet we have now...........I was gob-smacked at how quick and quietly it printed. You'll have lots of fun. Trifley

Hi, Yes I agree on the subject of elderly drivers. My dad is a fairly competent driver at 89, I feel safe in with him. He recently bought a little Hyundai getz which is easier for him. His licence is for daylight driving only. He is not allowed out at night. But he knows that he will have to give up his licence soon and will be happy to do so. At the moment he only goes out a couple of times a week and never in the city, once for a Sunday paper and once to shop, library etc. He has also recently had laser surgery to his eyes and can see with out his glasses. I am guessing that the man who ran into Sophie will never forgive himself, but school zones are 40 not 60 here in Queensland anyway, and any one driving should know the rules, and obey them. Sorry to sound so hard, but that's how I feel. How would we all feel if it had been a young hoon? I had better go before you all throw things at me SuzyQ

Trifley Report 8 May 2006 06:30

Hi Laurie.........<<<clap>>>. A most worthy item to take a stance about. We used to live in a small Blue Mountains town west of Katoomba. There was an elderly lady who would walk up to the path in front of her home, look both ways to check for cars on the Gt. Western highway, then hobble back down the driveway to her garrage. She would start the car and then BACK up the driveway and onto the road. How she never had an accident was due more to the vigilance of others than to her driving skills. Graeme had to have a talk with her and she eventually gave up her licence. Poor little Sophie has survived so far because of her inner strength and the skills of our medical teams. May the angels continue to look after her. Dianne

Hi Trifley, my new toy is a Canon PRIXMA MP170 I thought it was a bargain..$145 at JB Hi Fi you can plug memory cards into the front of it and it comes with a photo program which looks good but I haven't tried yet. B/W or color and so much faster than any printer I've ever had before.....lets just hope its idiot proof...lol cleaned 4 shelves so far, but most of the s**t doesn't belong to me so am making a mountain for hubby to sort..hope he is in a chucking mood when he gets home. must be coffee time Lew I understand multi tasking, Im a wife, mother, daughter, housekeeper, cook, DIL, office manager, occasional taxi driver....the list is never-ending, why arent we paid accordingly...lol I have a sign on my office door, 'Yes men work harder than women, but women do it right the first time' how true Well said Laurie, its hard for families to take lic away, its a doctors job! Laurie Report 8 May 2006 06:16

Afternoon all, while were all on soapboxes, I'll put in tuppence worth on the driver issue . . . Its about time the doctors thought of others on the road when they sign approvals for the elderly drivers to retain the lic. Both my b-i-l and my dad had theirs for too long. OK I know independence is important - but the legislation is there its just the Drs who dont follow the line - My b-i-l was bedridden and Dr signed for him, my dad was clearly reflex deficient and he got his . . . How many times have each of us been out on the road and seen elderly drivers obviously struggling!!! I do feel for the old guy who hit Sophie, . . . but contempt for the system that allowed him to be there !!! Steps down . . . takes a deep breathe . . . and goes for a caffine fix . . . cheers luv Laurie

Hi Wafflers I’ve just tried the photo page and I can’t get anywhere either. Must be some heck of a glitch. Now this ‘football’ thing you’ve been talking about. Lions, tigers, dogs, roosters, crows……..does the RSPCA know about this? Sounds a bit suss to me. Hi Jude2……what sort of printer/scanner did you get? I had a scanner attached to this puta until the USB port went on the fritz. Mark took it for his lap top and I haven’t seen it since. Which isn’t surprising, as things have been known to disappear into his room before. I think mhe has a Bermuda Triangle under his bed. Hi Lew Lew…….I agree with you about Shame Warne. He can’t be thinking of his kids the way he behaves. We always told Mark, when he was growing up, not to do anything he wouldn’t like to see on the front page of the local paper the next day. As we used to live in small towns and Graeme was a local copper, there was every chance Mark could have made it to the front page. It is all about self respect and respect for family. Ok that’s my turn on the soap box……next! Ahhhh…….time for coffee. Be back later. ~~~~waves to you all love Trifley
