You offer something free and the scots come out of the woodwork. Thanks Lew Lew....I guess I'l find out where aunty Jeanie's planted someday. Today on the Gold Coast is a little cooler than it has been. I had to put a T-shirt with sleeves on today. Looks like autumn has finaly arrived in Qld. Had to do some shopping yesterday so i wandered around the clothes shops as well. There are some lovely winter woolies available this year....pity it doesn't get cold enough to wear them. I'm going to do something unusual today...........I'm going to cook! Yes, yes, I know....now don't get too excited. I'm only going to do a casserole. Both boys will be home late tonight so I thought I might throw something together for their dinner. If you see on the news about a fire in Mudgeeraba then you'll know who it is lol. Toodle ooo. love Trifley ( skips off whistleing a happy tune....off key) |

good afternoon its a lovely sunny day here and all is well . Vonny glad to hear your friends funeral went well sorry wasn't on at all yesterday to wish you well. You're very lucky another little girl coming along to spoil and cherish . We had visitors arrive unexpectedly and they stayed for dinner last night so no chance to sneak online as Tiger was playing golf and I had to play the role of hostess with the mostest again If I do say so my self I excelled with a beautiful roast pork dinner , and my normal lumpy gravy he he oh well can' t be perfect can I would have nothing to aim for . .Shazz have you got the AVRI working yet mate? if not email me and will I get on msn and try and help you ok Anna and Joodles I will be sitting here like a stale bottle on Mothers Day too Tiger probably doing what he does most days and Cassie has my mothers day pressie she told me about it because as usual she picked something I really wanted and bought it just as I had told Mike I was going especially to get one in Wangarratta its a special bag on wheels for scrapbooking and she rang and asked did I get one and when I said no I was going to get she said don't I have it for you for Mothers Day but when she saw it on the catalogue she said she knew if I hadn't already got one I would be going to get that one, she is keeping it for me when I get there I just recieved a lovely surprise a lovely card from my adopted daughter so beautiful and hand made too and in my very favourite colours will have to ring her she is so clever and thoughtful . Laurie off to NZ can you call out over there and ask if there are any Days/ O'Days that might belong to me please because they certainly are not in Tassie and there has always been the rumour that they we had Maori blood so just call out the equivalant to cooee and and ask please' hey you guys got rillies in oz' o'deys or deys, 'will they are lookin for you bros ' they'll understand then see cause this is how you speak NZ see I'm bilingual ok thanks Laurie Tony Hope things have improved and daughter and her daughter are going ok will pm you later Had a look at mini meet photos and it looks like you had a good time girls a preview for next Feb eh Trifley I had a look too at your artifact and one question where do you put the batteries? Hi guys Just a quickie! So much for mother's day! Daughter has to shoot a short film for her media asssigment and has managed to borrow an old empty house from a local property developer so she can shoot there over the weekend. Have one of daughter's friends who is helping with the shoot staying for the whole weekend, actresses coming and going - and hubby is off to the wood show in Brisbane! Bleedin' great..! Thanks for looking for me Lew - she seems to be elusive. I've been told that the prefix Fitz originally meant 'illegitimate child of' - thus Fitzroy for example originally meant illegitimate child of a king. The 'O' in Irish has the equivalent meaning. And there were plenty of comings and going between Ireland and Scotland! Hope you all have a good day. Catch you all later Anna |

Okay Jood, have found the following marriage: 1855 LAUGHLAN WILLIAM GRIEVE JANE PARTICK GLASGOW CITY/LANARK Do you have the Certificate or do you want me to get it for you, it's online? Now I think I'll check the 1861 Census for you to see where they are and who they have with them. LL x |

Okay C.H. I'll send you the 1881 census image and try and find William's death. While I've still got a few credits, I'll try and locate your Laughlan's under other spellings. Lew Lew xxx |

Awww sorry Miss Mudgee ....... why d'ya think I arst ya pmsl. Yes, Jane Baird is Williams wife, and the daughter Jane is hers. .. I didn't have a death date for Willam Baird, so wasnt aware that he wouldnt be around for the 81 census. .... The Laughlans are a nuisance in that the name is spelt to many different ways Loughlin/Laughlin/Lachlan and so on. .. but seriously Lew, thanks for your help. Love Jood |

Shazz, I had trouble at first. I loaded the viewer as suggested but I didn't need it. Uninstall everything (check in programs) and just start with the first of the discs themselves (not the viewer). I had no trouble and just need to insert the discs when I'm hunting. ~~~~~~~~~Vonny who wasn't here :) |

Good morning all . . . you been a busy girl Lew, I got a bit sad when I went as far as I could on the site - its such a good one isn't it. My Forsyths, McKenzies and Robbs spoilt me - like I said the other day, I think we should petition the Federal Govt for a National system based on Scotpeeps model. Its a wonderful day on the Bay, dull and grey outside, No giraffes having time out, no sun, bit chilly . . . . But . . . Ray is coming home early . . . yipee !! Been on the wait list and got a confirmation so he will be in Sunday morning early instead of Monday. So Mothers Day is looking a little brighter than it was yesterday. I was going to slip out to the records office again today for a few hours - but change of plans! I'm off to New Zealand in a couple of days - that crept up quick! Mind you, I know where I would prefer to be going - Dubai, but the trade show there is on same time as Rays prior commitment in New Zealand so our friends in Jakarta get that trip for themselves. Now Dubai . . . there's Bling !!!! Von, at least the Burtons aren't Smith & Jones . . . I deleted those names from my tree on here, and just do individual searches every now and then to see if I find a match. I keep telling Ray its his fault because they are on his side. Joodles one of those books I ordered at the library arrived yesterday - The history of Kyneton 1839 - 1980, will get it today and take it with me to NZ - let you know if there is anything in it relevant to our Gleesons/Conways. Be nice if the Cobb & Co one arrived too! Song for Lew . . . Its a little bit closer forty nine days Then I'm out the door mates on retirement daa ay ! . . . . . Have a good one all cheers luv Laurie |

Boy, Chicken Herder, could you have made it any more difficult!!! Can't find any of your deaths, no William Baird matching your description on the 1881 census. There is a Jane Baird, Paisley, widowed, living with daughter Jane. Ring a bell? Lew lew xxx |
