Morning Wattlers Gee where has the last couple of days gone???? Seems like they have just dissappeared. Firstly I have made contact with a cousin on this site, my Great Grandfather is her Great Great Grandfather, so after sending emails back and forth we found out that we live in the same city and only a suburb away from each other, so she is going to come over to my place one night this week so we can go through our info we have. Yesterday I, along with 3 other friends went for a drive down to the NW coast to a place called Burnie, we have a friend who is in hospital and needed a bit of cheering up. She had a knee reconstruction and the pain killer tablets they put her on had adverse effects and she became very down with even suisidal thoughts, which isnt her. She is getting better as the medication wears off, but the docs say it will take a couple of months to get back to her cheery self. I woke this morning to the news on the radio and had to stop and think for a moment as a woman in our suburb aged in her forties won over $500,000 in Tattslotto on the weekend, then I had a let down as I realised it wasnt me :-((( But shebuys her ticket from the same place we buy ours. So hopefully the shop will still be lucky when it comes to my turn to buy the Lotto ticket. I havent read back on all the messages, I did check out some of the wierd names and yes I did have a look at mine thanks susyQ but I cant remember what it was. Anna glad you got your puta probs worked out quickly. Laurie you are probably already left for NZ. but if you have your lappy, which I assume you would, hope you have a nice time. Tony seems to be busy from reading a couple of messages, hope his daughter is getting along ok. Well today is a lovely sunny day, it has been for the last few days as well and expecting to be the same for the next couple of days at least. Will be back later. cheers Sue

Good Morning to the Warbling Waffling Wattlers Nip in the air here this morning but I'm still not wearing a jumper. Hi Jude 3 - good luck with the purchase of the ticket to our dreams. What a beautiful poem from your daughter. That is something to be tucked away in your family history files. Vonny - very interesting about the cause of your computer crashing last year - and yes - sounds as if it is the same antiviral program. The tech who came to fix ours says he always advises people against it. Did you change your anti viral program? Lew - we're all hanging out for the photos - sounds as if you are getting nearer to the completion of the job. Hope you find the missing bit to Vonny's jig saw puzzle at the South Pole. The only big jig saw we have is Miss November and believe me she hasn't got any bits missing! Daughter and hubby are poorly (don't you love that word - it's so English). They both have colds and are coughing all over the place, so touch wood I can escape the germs floating around the house. Julie - kitten is fine - none the worse for its adventure. Did you see our pet piggies on my pics on photo page? Aren't they cute? Well - hope everyone has a good day Catch you later Anna

Lew Lew - that is near my old stamping ground. .... I never ever got to the Bathers Pavilion (bit exie for me), but I loved going down to the beach, used to take all my visitors there. This poem is not directed to anyone in particular!!! The Value of a Drink 'Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. .. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. .. If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.' ~ Jack Handy WARNING: The consumption of alcohol may leave you wondering what the hell happened to your bra and panties. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 'I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day. ' ~Frank Sinatra Thats it folks Jood

Morning Wattlers. Another clear day here on the Central Tablelands. Yes, Julie, our Jood is now known as the Chicken Herder. A very amusing sight indeed. That was a lovely poem Jude 3. My mum passed away in 2001 and unfortunately I wasn't close to either her or my dad. Anyway, that's the way life is sometimes. No point dwelling on it and I have lots of friends who are happy to share their parents. Well it's back to the office today. Had breakfast yesterday down at the Bathers Pavillion at Balmoral Beach. God I can't wait to retire so I can do more of that kind of thing (45 sleeps). Landscapers on site this morning, as well as the builders just doing the final touches. I promise, photos will be published soon! Not long now 'til the Brissie Meet. Rebs, do you have any final numbers? Well must away. Chat with you during the day. Lew Lew xxx

Julie, My daughter was at work, and I had to get the eggs one day (for myself) - and when I got in the cage, the 3 little beggars got out - it took me 20 mins to get them back - sqawking and dashing here and there, get one to the gate, and it would be a matter of you go that way and I'll go this way. ... I was soooo puffed out and swearing like mad to say the least! .. You know how hysterical chickens get !!! Jood

Hi ya wattlers hope you all had a wonderful mothers day. I thought I would share this with you. It was penned by my darling daughter who resides in Pt douglas. I always knew in my heart of hearts that we would find delight in one another (it only took 30 yrs) we have been throught some traumatic times, but after reading this every moment has been worth it. You have loved me from the beginning never faltering, never ceasing you have continuosly sacrificed your time, your wants, your needs to make me feel so special Words of encouragement and strength hugs from the warmth of your heart you have always given to me beautiful words, caring thoughts, kindness to keep us close together Over distance and through time your courage, your belief in me has shaped who I have become thankful, proud and grateful I love that your are my Mum. It was the most wonderful present. She made me cry - but also makes me feel that the 30yr journey has been worthwhile. My boys read it and said, well sis said it all. we love you mum. BTW have you all had access to something over the last couple of days that smells funny? Wot have you lot been on? Also feeling a great responsibility as I have to buy this weeks lotto ticket 2 mrrw. I'm going to have everything so crossed , I'm hardly going to look normal asking for the ticket. jude 3 I'm on here 2 days earlier than usual as I commandeered the puta as all the males in the household are watching channel 10 (b.brother uncut - revolting.) going to bed now - muttering wattlers wattlers we will succeed, wattlers, wattlers the million indeed....wattlers wattlers ...................... no update- thats no good wattlers wattlers we will suceed, we want millions, millions indeed (they are about 20 of us after all!)

Hey guys, don't let me mislead you into thinking I'm a whizz in the tool department. Far from it. When I do something it's all trial and error, and strictly out of necessity. Todays little project for example. Necessity......I would go stir crazy without my stereo. I love being at home alone at night. Candles giving a soft glow to the room. Sitting on the floor leaned up against the sofa, legs stretched out across the thick rug. Bottle of wine within easy reach, and whatever music takes your mood playing in the background. Sure, you can play cd's on the 'puter, but you don't quite get the same effect. Hmmmm, bit late for that last bottle of wine. Maybe a splash of Baileys in my coffee instead.

Anna, it was an anti-virus program that cause my computer to crash last year. Mine started and ended with an N. Keziah was the second eldest of Job's second three daughters and to quote; ' there were no other women in the whole world as beautiful as Job's daughters' Job ch 42 v15 it was a very popular name for a while - hubby has a Keziah Davis - and is making a come-back. I know of a Keziah who is about 6 years old. Vonny PS Waves frantically to Julie~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good on ya Anna - glad you're back online so quickly. Rebs - and all the others who know how to use tools - I'm impressed. it's not that I don't know how to use them, it's just that I'm all thumbs and it's painful to watch, believe me! Sooooo, Laurie is going to keep her eye on us is she, AND Jood obviously loves the Naughty Corner now she's found it! Trifley, thank Graeme so much for that info. Of course, it all makes sense. Ok Lew Lew, you're on. Lost puzzle pieces warehouse is on your agenda. Did you know you can go online and see live piccies of Antarctica?? It's all black at the moment cause the sun isn't rising HEE, HEE ~~~~~~~~~Vonny. nighty nite

Goodnight to all Laurie - I have an ancestor named Keziah and there is a child in this generation in UK named after her. It is an unusual name. Hope you have packed all your thermals to go to NZ - have a great time. I note that you do not trust us to behave ourselves whilst you are away and will be popping in to check up on us!! Oh ye of little faith! Glad to hear you girls have your own tool kits........... You never know when you''ll need a tool. My son's partner has her own electric drill and she's very proud of it - she is sick of waiting for my son to find his! Hubby is extremely proud of his tools - a place for every tool and every tool in it's place. I always know where to find the tool I'm looking for. Dum de dum de dum.........!! Joodles - like your fancy new bits - very showy. Glad your View Club's birthday bash went well. Loved the Italian joke!! Problem with our computer was the new anti virus program - not sure if I'm allowed to bad mouth brands on here but shall we just say we will changing our anti virus program. Anyhow, it's fixed for the moment - cost us $70 which is not too bad I guess for a home visit. Daughter can now print from our printer again - she has been emailing her assignments to our computer and printing them! Hi Julie - naughty little puss - not you, the kitten! There was a huge carry on around the corner from us this week - kitten stuck in a drain under the street. It was mewing so pathetically and it was all hands on deck to rescue the poor little mite. It was so tiny! Trifley - send us up some rain. Not a drop in sight here. Waves to all the other Wattlers - Anna PS. Heather - Love Actually is one of my very favourite movies - so many layers to it. I think the part where the wife opens her Christmas present and finds a CD is so sad. And the sleazy b ....d she is married to looks so much like my first husband it's not funny! He even sounds like him! And the bit where the bride finds out that her hubby's best friend is in love with her. So sad! It's a whole box of tissues movie that one! I got flowers from my darling daughter too - not delivered though! That was very special for you Heather to have them delivered. What a sweetie your daughter must be.

Hi All, Had great time laughing at the name shenanigans yesterday!! Mostly because when Lew had her scotlandspeople credits up for grabs she did a search for me and one of the alternative surnames was --- PITBLADDOW ---- hubby not tooo impressed to think he could have this name in his family tree LOL. Had a lovely Mums Day (she brags ) DD14 had flowers delivered!!!( her father grumbled that’s what you get for giving her too much pocket money lol) – I was delighted. She and I stayed up late cuddling on the sofa watching “Love Actually” last night – it was gorgeous having a girly chat with her, precious time to remember ……… I’m busy with NZ connections at the moment, hubby’s side again but info coming together nicely but only back to 1860’s, starting to have enough info to look back in UK and Scotland and emigration… Gotta go, “homework calls” ….. ~ Heather ~
