Hi everyone,, Well Uncles visit is over and he has gone to the airport to get his plane home..I did so enjoy his visit and had a little weep saying goodby,, we are very close as we grew up together as children and he is more like a older brother than a uncle as he is only 5 years older than me. He is keen for us to visit him in the UK so we will keep that on the backburner for future thought. Laurie I see you are home and in one peice,, Did you hit the shops in Auckland,, Joodles I have not been able to read back so I hope whatever you had done is OK and you are fit and well..Did you build a snowman,,LOL We drove back from Orange on last Sat. and when we got halfway to Paramatta on the freeway there was an accident and we were sent off on a detour.. I was completely lost until I saw the sign M7 so headed for that even though I dont have a E tag, and we got home very nicely .. When I rang the E tag peeps they let me off paying as we had been put off our route by the police and we had nowhere else to go..It was great and I must now get a E tag as I will use it to go to Canberra next month.. Carol.. Thanks for the website, Hope you have a nice day also.. Anna Did I miss your birthday.. Hope you had a very happy one and got lots of nice pressies.. I have been told that I have a bit of a pommy acent,, My mothers side of the family were english from Kent and my father was scottish.. People ask me where I was from and I have to explain about my ancestry...LOL Glad OH is feeling better.. Trifley.. I love Bunnings and also Spotlite as I have saved so much money at Spotlite that it is a frequent visit but I will have to stop now until we move..enough to throw out already..LOL Shazz.. Mad as usual,, loved the story about the cat.. susie Q. How are you mate.. hope you are keeping well. Do you have your P&Q back yet,, neighbours can be very inconsiderate at times.. We had 2 barking dogs next door for 8 months on end and they did nothing until we threatened to go to the council.. Then had the hide to say they were hurt by us complaining.. Sandra Hope you got some rain We got nothing much..thinder and lightening but thats about all.. Lara Are you still home or have you got away..I am so out of touch at the present it is going to take me days to catch up.. Lyn I live on the NOrthern Beaches of Sydney and we do have a little minni meet now and again with the Sydney and surrounds mob.. Hi Lew Lew, Forgot to mention depending on how fast you drive it shouldn't take more than an hour to get from Hope Island. Donna should be able to give you better directions, she lives not far from Hope island. It is motor way almost all the way. SuzyQ

Good Morning, We had some rain last night and thunder and lightning. I am not sure how much but it will be good for the grass. Wilson, I am not sure what you are doing but have you tried to print it in landscape form. I used to use spreadsheets a lot and often it was the best way to print out. I don't know which program you are using but must have info for ptinting headers and page nos etc. Just try edit, tools etc. Maybe you could also change the page margins to make it fit. I am just having a coffee break from the h*******k, so can't stay long. Laurie glad you arrive home safely, Anna Hope you had a really good birthday Joddles hope you are feeling better and get good results. Devily, Donna and Rebs were are you? Hope every thing is okay. Every one else, there are too many to remember, hope life is good for you today Will drop in this afternoon Luv SuzyQ

Couldnt resist adding this A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park. As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway. The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home. Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat! He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there. Hours later the man calls home to his wife: 'Jen, is the cat there?' 'Yes,' the wife answers, 'why do you ask?' Frustrated, the man answered, 'Put that son of a ***** on the phone, I'm lost! and need directions!' Shazz

Morning Wattlers, Jood – take care of yourself – hope you are on the improve Anna – glad you had a good birthday. Congrats to your daughter and rest of the choir – is Fields of Gold the Sting song? Re your question on accents – we had Scottish tenants at one stage who had 2 small children. They said that if you left your homeland before the age of 4 you lost your accent, after the age of 4 you retained it. OH comes from Kent – doesn’t seem to have an accent although pronouces ‘th’ more like ‘f’ on some words. m-i-l on other hand uses the word ‘et’ for eat and always pronounces almond as al-mond. Anyone wanting to know where their rellies lived in Victoria & Queensland in 1903 or South Australia in1909 I now have a new CD with the electoral rolls for those particular years only. Only too happy to do lookups if I can be of assistance. I have given up the chance to be in the Library all day to get some more dreaded h*******k done, so I had better get my skates on – dishwasher is already humming and washer loaded ready to go. Laurie – glad you’re home s & s – thanks for the chocolate email – and I thought my b**t was getting bigger from eating it – must be cos I keep sitting on it – pmsl Hi to everyone else, have a great day – glad some peeps are getting a bit of rain – forgotten what it is here Catch y’all later Gwenda b****r - missed the big one - again

Good morning Wattlers from Botany Bay A very cloudy day, but the cloud is far from low, so a good view out there. There are 4 giraffes with heads held high, and a tanker is just leaving Kernell, so all pretty busy. We had a bit of rain here overninght, but not enough to rave about, though it did clear the air, and give the grass a drink. Anna, your friend with the puter out the window reminds me of Ray and the tellie . . . the boys were suppose to be doing homework, but instead were watching tellie, we kept telling them to turn it off, but we could still just hear it . . Ray went upstairs and threw the tellie out the window! I am sure you can imagine the number of times the monsters have told the story! I am on third load of washing already, balcony looking like a chinese laundry, but with the humidity I guess it will all end up in the dryer later. I think I have waited long enough before invading the neighbours, to pick up my mail - hopefully should be two certs there, and that should make sure the shopping trip is short - I will be keen to get back to see where they lead me. Catch up with you all later in the day cheers luv Laurie

Morning everyone from sunny Brissie, actually we had some rain last night not a lot but it's a start and it's very over cast at the mo. I would advise bring jackets it gets quite cold in the evenings and can be bl--dy freezing in the morning. Went to see Divinci Code last night, did it in style too, OH got two gold class tickets for his birthday, we both enjoyed it, it is what it is I think, just a fast acting mystery romp, great acting by Ian Mcelland (spelling) I still have even after thirty years in this beautiful country, a London accent although my UK rellies think I have an Aussie one. Congrats to your daughter Anna you must be so pleased. Jill

Morning Wattlers, Thanks for the offer of your cast off Joodle, but Lara beat you to it and now hopefully i have some bling. I was starting to feel a bit plain amongst all the royalty and sparkle lol. I am now absolutely sure why I am not into office work,...lucky i am not a violent person or the computer would be out the window lol. I am trying to print out an information form to laminate to help staff at work know which information to send to different places. So it has columns and rows, i am using a word program and have finished it except for the printing. i will have another go at it later, don't want to ruin the day so early hehe. Have a good day all, Wilson with bling yea!!

Morning Wattlers Thanks to all for my birthday wishes. As I said, spent the day at the eisteddfod - daughter's choir competed in 4 sections and came second in each of them - couldn't quite crack a first but they did very well and sounded beautiful. I don't know if any of you know the song 'Fields of Gold' - they sang that and it really gave me goosebumps. Welcome back Laurie - sad to hear you didn't do justice to the free booze. Well - you can't really say it's free can you, but you know what I mean! Good luck with the shopping etc - back to reality. Love your new name. Very regal. Joodles - how are you. Hope all is well as you certainly haven't been your sizzling self. Hugs and take care. Brisvegas is gettting closer - Rebs, how cold do you think it will be down there? We haven't really had much cold weather yet but I guess in another 2 weeks we can expect a chill in the air. It rained - a little - here last night! 8 mls which is better than nothing. A bit of a drink for our parched gardens. I asked a question ther other day and not many people responded. I will repeat. If we ALL got together, how many of you are clinging to an accent from the auld country? In other words, how many of you talk funny?? SuzyQ admits to a Yorkshire accent. Come on you other ex poms - what sort of an accent do you have? Hubby is feeling a bit better thank goodness. He's off to work today. I was quite worried about him as he was having difficulty breathing. He has been on so much medication. Going shopping today so best get my glad rags on. Have a good day. XX Anna

Morning All and, no, Jood, we did get any blinking rain! *stomps feet* Hope you're feeling better. Lara, my Watts are from Nayland, Suffolk. Any connection? Road workers are back this morning to do the final pressing. We then have to wait for a few months before the tar sealing can be done. ~~~waves to everyone~~~ Lew Lew (38!)

Good evening wattlers - back in Sydney safe and sound thank you! I got a new name today . . . friend was with me in the Qantas Club so I showed her what a lot of nuts I mix with and she came up with a new name for me . . . I will just have to live up to it now! We had this great friend, Brian, who lost his battle about three years ago, and he gave us his theory on airline tickets. He said that when they calculated the price they took into account the cost of totally restocking the bar on board, so its up to each of us to get what we pay for! Ray and I always have a glass of champers as soon as the hostie appears with the tray and drink a toast to him - but the bubbles always make me sleepy - so I think I let the side down. But its nice that every time we get on a plane we think of him. We didn't get any rain on our flight, and the lightening only started after we had landed, (though like I said I was a little noddy) Home to an empty larder, but thankfully I had some soup in the freezer, so I know what I will be doing in the morning, shopping and washing. I will catch up with you all in the morning, let us know how you get on Joodles! cheers luv Laurie
