Trifley try that website again, there were only 2 brackets to remove around the dot - I didnt have any trouble. Almost the end of a lovely day, tho I believe it is wet at times im Malbin, and someone said there is a cold front hitting Malbin tomorrow, so I am going to be well rugged up. I wrote that about 20 minutes ago and now its pouring with rain, had to dash downstairs and retrieve the last bit of washing. ... Now another 20 minutes later the sun is shining. .. As Lew would say - BLAST! lol Jood |

Hello Duck..I know what you mean about asking questions. I started doing FH when there was only my dad left. I'm making sure that todays generation has as much info as I can find. As I said yesterday....we are going to Medicare before heading to Canungra as I have a stack of bills I want to cash in. I don't intend to do any running around for a few days after Wednesday. So we'll arrive at Canungra independantly. TX |

Jood, me thinks so too. Tony, love the sound of your bedroom. What colour are you going to paint it. My kids were very fortunate re grandies. Didn't know 1 grandfather, 1 still alive, and 1 grandmother is still alive, the other only died a few years ago. Also while they were growing up, both my grandmothers were alive. So they had 4 nannas. Both of my grandmothers were 97yrs 6 mths old when they died, one in 1997 the other in 2001. Unfortunately I was not doing family history at the time and regret not having asked lots of questions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~Jude and Lara~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pam |

Hi everyone Tony...that room sounds great. I hope you'll show us some pickles. Have fun with the offspring tonight. Joodles....why aren't you packed? (Trifley stands with hands on hips, tapping foot) Yes please ....I need the web address of Next Gen Photos. Can anyone help? Anna..the Barn sounds like a good place for a harty Ozzie meal. Do they do dinners? The sun is shining and there is a light breeze blowing here on the GC. It looks like a good day for a football grand final. Good luck Zack. It's also a good day for drying clothes. Graeme got the washing all hung out for me before he went to work so all I have to do is bring it in when it's dry. What did I do to deserve a wonderful man like him? I'm off for a little walk around the yard. 'Byeee love TX |

Flucky duff - I think our Lew Lew will be at the racetrack and well into the champers by now. Tony I agree with you that old houses have much much more character than the new ones.. I always admire the old ones which have been done up, when I am driving past. I remember Nanna's house had a slide down window right to the floor, and we kids had a lot of fun crawling in and out and running round the place. .. Actually the house I left in Mosman (two storey) was built in 1913, but had an addition put on in 1964 which sort of made it look newer, it was an A-shape. .. Had to have a lot of work done on it, but was a lovely home. .. When my youngest was at primary school, the mothers were taken on an historical tour of Mosman (we had aborigines in the area millyuns of years ago, and the bay was a popular place for careening boats in the 1700-1800s). When the designated driver stopped off at her house (later my house) to get something, and I was really admiring it. In 1978 when houses were relatively cheap, I asked my ex could we have a look at this one (I didnt think we could afford to buy it, I really wanted to have a stickybeak inside, as ya do). We ended up buying it. .. Had a lovely view - could just see a peek of Sydney Harbour, but when the fireworks were on at New Year, they seem to come right up to us (now they start the fireworks closer to the bridge and we only saw the high ones) I'm really waffling arent I lol - I even forgot what I came on for - oh yes, could skp give me the 'next generation' address please. You guys always use the GC photos page, but the english seem to use next generation, I should have saved it :( Jood |

Lunch time...:>)))) * Coffee break* Jood. I dont mine working on fathers day mate, as i get a kick out of doing it, and its really relaxing in a way. Thats nice story about ya Dad mate. Never really knew mine much, as he died when i was a nipper. Never met any of me Grandads as they all died before i was born. Me fathers dad was 45 years old when me dad was born 1918. and dad was the last born out of 3 kids.I was a late baby also because dad and mum waited till he got back from the War to start a family. Grandad was born 1874 in Essex, and by the time he had his first, he was already 41 years old, and living in Oz..... He died 1947, two years before i hit the atmosphere.Me mums dad died in 1942.....so i was grandpa-less....:>((( Sugar soaped the walls and ceiling, and filled in all the little holes and cracks in the walls with spackfilla. Paint was $76 bucks all up, so not to bad. We have the high ceilings 8ft 6 and the scrolled patterned wide cornices and the old picture rails around the walls, with the large patterned Rosette's in the centre of the ceilings. Barb and i both like the older style homes, as they have a lot of character, and we are both very old fashioned in our taste. Not everyones cup a tea, but each to there own. The walls and ceiling will be painted one color, and the cornices, rosette, skirting and picture rails a deeper color of the same shade. The old queen size bed has gone into Sarah's room, and i will be building a new King size box base bed with draws, and the bed head. The whistle has blown * Lunch over*..so back to work. Couple of very fast low flying fighter jets just flew o/head??? Dont know why....maybe a practice run. Av a good un. Tony Oz...;>)) |

Laurie Happy Happy Birthday - hope you have a really great day. Tony and all the other dads - enjoy your 'day'. How disappointing !!!!! Only lucky Wattie came up with the goods. Maybe we are just waiting for a 'biggie'. Lew, if you haven't gone to the races yet, bet on the 'Greys'. Probably won't win you anything, but at least you can see your horse go round the track. lol Jood, nice memories. Now it is time to finish that packing and I hope you have a really great little holiday. Hi SuzyQ, the map I got from racq (internet) has me going off the freeway at Daisy Hill and through Slacks Ck, Waterford, Logan Village, Tamborine, Wonglepong and then Canungra. Is this the best way for me to come or am I better off meeting Trifley ? I think my headache yesterday was because I was tired and had been doing a bit of family history combined with new glasses which I am not happy with. |

Awww Tony - ya sposed to be resting today - your day. Well I have got a lot of stuff to take downstairs - will it fit in the case or will it not .. geez .. have I got everything or have I not (probably too much I'd say) .. My mind is going overtime and thinking 'will I need this' - geez just thought of something else right then! My face has almost cleared up now - amazing really. My hands will take a little longer. I suppose there are lots of barbies, and pickynicks and luncheons going on everywhere. .. Me, I have no-one, no Dad. .. But at least its a lovely day for everyone to enjoy. .. I just shed a tear then for my dear old dad. .. Not that I saw him on Fathers day for a long time, as he was in Perth and I was in Sydney. .. I remember when Dad turned 80, he wanted me to go over for his birthday. .. Meanwhile I had decided to surprise him anyway, so I had to make up lies (sorry Dad) as to why I couldn't make it. .. Brother in law picked me up at the airport and hid me at his mother's place until it was time to go to my sister's place where the party was held. .. Boy it was worth it - poor old Dad burst into tears, and so did I. .. It was real special day. Jood |
