Good Morning All Wattlers/Wafflers!! Oh Tony, Your description of Barb's Dad's funeral is lovely, and please pass on my condoloences to Barb. I'll be thinking of you especially today, the day after the funeral, because my Mum died on Sep 5 2001, we buried her on 10th, and day after the funeral of course was Sep 11th. I remember thatt day thinking that the whole world had changed completely in the space of a week, with Mum gone and the world terrorised. It's a short time ago but another whole era. And today Valentines Day is Mum's birthday (Big Lump in Throat) - so we make a fuss of each other today, in remembrance.(Chocolates at the breakfast table!!) Lara I will try to make Yarrawonga, just not certain which day until closer to the time. I can sleep in my van. I'll keep in touch. Hello to everyone else - we are having glorious early autumn days here, nice nip in the air. Enjoy your day, Heather in Albury |

Good evening all. Hi Tony, Glad your power point went well, and been thinking of you and Barb today. All that emotion is really draining, so give heaps of the TLC. I will not be slow on the uptake to send you a picci to see if you can do a repair job for me - I've had a go myself and not done a very good job - the old thick cardboard just snapped on my and caused me tons of grief - I actually have two if its not too rude. The VB will be in the boot at Yarrawonga! Wow Von, you must be so excited, the lamb coming home to the fold so to speak. I am so pleased for you - miss mine like crazy. I shouldn't chuckle . . . but I think my old wopping machine started this great washing machine walkout! Wilson, glad your haveing a NORMAL holiday - hope your keeping a journal! Spiders and toilets brings back horrible memories for me - 17yrs old, just before I went off and joined the Navy. Thought I was pretty much queen of the jungle, shearing time - had a 3yr old crush on one of the shearers, smokko time off to the loo - you guessed it as I ran out screaming at the redback with dacks down - they were all out leaning on the rails. The pride took a battering that day. Hope Kangaroo Island is terrific for you & the fam. I now have the hot little e-tickets in hand - 16 sleeps till we leave on the 1st March, 24hr stop over in Singapore on the way to Frankfurt. (Just time for a little cosmetic & camera shopping and catch up with friends). Ray thinks it is funny that he wont have a birthday this year - says he's not adding a year. We leave London on 28th March and get home on 30th - lost day being Ray's birthday. I've had a b---h of a day, couldn't remember which box I had packed Rays big coat in when we moved, of course it was in the last one I checked - as I was cutting the tape I noticed written in pencil COATS ! Thats fine except I then had to sort out and try and make more room for stuff I had unpacked. Salvo store has done well. Heaps less storeage in this aptmnt, and I'm not real good on the 'throw out' theory as a rule, what you would call a hoarder. Anway puter about to turn into a pumpkin so will say bye and talk later cheers luv Laurie |

Hi Wattlers. Well the funeral went as planned, and the slides i did on power point worked a treat. It kinda broke the sermon up a little, and added a history line in pictures of Ron's ( Barbs dad ) life from a baby through to a teenager, RA.A.F, Married man, Father ( family man ), and Grandfather and with his favourite song playing....'From a Jack to a King' ..it bought a few memories flooding back to the people and loved ones that knew him. The funeral was done by 'White Ladies' and at the end we all went out to the lawn area where they released a White dove. WT. Not a problem to look on the NBI for you, just GR email me with the details mate. I cant promise i will find him, but it cant hurt to look for you. Just thought i would mention also, that i do a bit of restoration on old Photo's, and have a good program on the puter that refurbishes cracked or damaged Photograph's. ( you know...the ones of your grandparents, or G,Grands....... with all the cracks, and splits, torn corners and bits of background missing. ) ..on the old sepia or black n'whites. Every now and then peeps email Photo's as 'attach' and i restore them to a reasonable recognizable affect, and send them back via Email with a fresh coat of paint. I don't change that old sepia effect that many old Photo's have ( unless peeps want me to )...so if anyone has any old Photos they want restored, let me know. My dad was a Photographer, and would be in his glory to see what Photographic programs are available on computer in today's era. If the face features of the person/s is to badly damaged, i cant restore it. ps. I do not charge do do this.........but do it purely because i enjoy it. ( its a hobby ) Wilson. Sounds like a typical Ozzie holiday mate....lol Spiders don't scare Barb....but snakes....... or just the mention of them, would have seen her running naked from the shower block to the van...bugger the towel........lol If they show one on tele ( snake ) she lifts her legs up onto the couch...hee hee...and changes the channel. Lara. Son-in-law number one is a butcher, so he looks after his FIL with good cuts of meat........otherwise it would be just snags for us too mate.........lol Well......Barb is totaly drained after todays events, so might go make her a cuppa, and perhaps a bit of TLC. late evening all, Waiting for my youngest son to arrive home. He is flying in tonight from Brissy. Landing at 11.15pm so I guess a late night tonight. So excited to have him with the rest of the family. He has been living away from home for almost 10 years. Not staying with us (we already have eldest son and wife with us lol) but will stay a few days to get sorted out and then move in with his youngest sister and her hubby. Is this a washing machine conspiracy?? because mine started making awful noises today :( Also something is wrong with the dishwasher - don't mind the dishwasher going, it is 25 years old but the washing machine is only about 8 years old. They don't make them like they used to! Night all, catch you tomorrow. Vonny |

Evening Wattlers Wine Trifle yes the washing machine works well it is a Whirlpool new but has not got all the fancy computer buttons or ones that talk to you or even bip at you but it washes well so I guess thats the main thing. Yes I am lucky that I have caring parents and ones that were tight with their money before so they can help us now we are older and can appreciate their help more. Wilson Im glad it was you in the shower and not melol. My poor ol' heart wouldnt have took it. I'd have my heart unit going off like nothing. Hope the rest of your trip is less eventful, or at least with less bad events as you have had in the first part. Cheers Sue |

Afternoon all, well it is here in sunny Qld. Hi Tony...the power point for the funeral sounds wonderful. I am sure it will bring back many happy memories for Barb. Thinking about the good times might help her get over this rough period. In your list you mentioned the UK National Burial index. If I give you details of an uncle of mine who died in infancy would you be able to have a look for me?? Sue in Tassie Your parents sound caring and thoughtful. It must give them a lot of joy to be able to help you when they can. How did the washer go on its first load? Is it one of those ones which talk to you? I am going to be in the market for one in the near future, what is your brand? L L Lara hi, I haven't met you before....my name is Trifley {or winey depending on the time of day}. Don't believe all of the rubbish you hear about me in the 'Naughty corner' only some of it is true! Hi Lew...are you coping ok without your hubby? I can lend you mine if you want. Best be off....I have the lamb chops marinating and they need to be turned. Toodle ooo WT |

Hi Everyone, Well here we are at Goolwa, nice place. went fishing at Lake Charm for a couple of days, Very scary shower block, soaping face and opened eyes in time to see VERY LARGE huntsman spider coming down the wall towards me. MUCH screaming....... and found myself outside the shower NAKED!!!!. Got brave and rescued towel to cover some of me on the way back to van on other side of park. Poor husband had to go turn off shower and get my stuff. Then set off for Robinvale, truck went passed and ripped our awning off the van, Next stop Wentworth. Husband backed ute into tree........... Having a wonderful time lol... Off to Kangaroo Island tomorrow. Hope the ferry doesn' t sink he he. Hope you are all well. Take care, I will try to look in again soon, have not read the pages, so much goss to catch up on.. Hi to everyone. Bye Wilson |

Afternoon Wattlers Well it is a cool day here today, looks like summer had left us. Both the girls came for a walk with me this morning, but Dannielle, the youngest recons it is too far and doesnt want to come tomorrow. She hates walking or running, But she goes to scouts and they are always running around playing games. As long as it is not as it is not just plain running or walking, if that makes sense, she seems to like it. The washing machine got its first run this morning and it works like a dream. I thought I had better use it before the parents call in tomorrow on their weekly check up, as I call it. They call in every Tuesday or Wednesday while they are on their walk to see how I am and to say hi. I think it was Anna that said I was lucky to have parents that are able to help out when needed. I often thought we had a very deprived childhood. not sure if that is the right wording, but we would hardly ever have take away as in fish n chips or pizza or such as Dad would say they are a waste of money, we wouldnt go to the cinemas or go out to Tea unless it was a invite like a Wedding or special birthday. But then Dad had to save money as when I was young I had to go to Melbourne for my heart ops and Mum didnt work so it was only Dads wages that had to do everthing and there wasnt the help back then that is about now. However now that he is retired and us children have grown up and moved out on our own, they are able to live and enjoy their savings, by going on trips and of course they help out whenever we find ourself stuck for a couple of dollars, like I was this week. Even when it is a loan it is alway greatly appreciated, and yes I supposed we have thay to look forward to when our kids grow up and leave home. Well I have Waffled on long enough and Tamika is trying to cover her school books and needs an extra pair of hands so I better go and help. Catch you all after. Cheers Sue |

Afternoon All and I hope you are having a great day. Mudgee is again bathed in sunshine, but a bit of rain would be very nice! That Joodle's bits have become very impressive, I must say. Pity I won't be able to make it down to Yarrawonga. I thought the barbie sounded great, but I think Tony's watercress sandwich thought was pretty good too! Well done with the power point presentation Tony. I bet it will be beautiful and that Barb will really appreciate it. Hope everyone has a pleasant afternoon and I'm sure I'll chat with you this evening. Lew Lew xxx |
