Arvo Wattlers boy you lot can talk! 8 pages of reading to catch up on - you have been busy. Congratulations Tony & Barb - well done Barb. I'm feeling deprived - haven't got notebook/notepad thingy and no access to dangly bits (well on the computer anyway).lol I'm going to upset the flow of leo's and cancerians - my b'day is 16th March (1954) so you now have a pisces to add to the list Lara. Have accomodation in Yarrawonga (woodlands -lakeside) for Saturday night - can't make the Friday night however. Well its taken me all arvo to find time to add this, after reading for most of the morning. Maybe I'll get more time tomorrow! bye Jude 3

Afternoon Wattlers. Warm day in Melb. Jude in Melb. What makes it all a bit spooky is that Barb wanted to take her dad to the Whitsundays last time we went for a bit of R&R... We have been to Daydream and Hamilton Island a few times, and had wondered about booking a holiday on Hayman, but always found it a bit to expensive for our budget. The winners name will be listed in the Age on the 21st Feb.The comp ended on the 31st Jan, and the winner was to be notified by Phone......so we are only to pleased to accept the call....lol ( notice how i said we....) I mean, i play a part in these comp's ya know......i eat the no label tin food in the pantry...hee hee We have till August this year to take it....so probably then. Thanks everyone for the Congrat.for the win........Barb is a very tinnie person, and i have never met anyone with the luck of the Irish as she has. I'm sure peeps will hear about her luck, if your going to the meet at Yarrawonga.....lol Since 1992 ( when she first started comps.. ) this is Holiday number 12 that she has won, among other's, and she does belong to a club ( very similar to GR...but an Ozzie Comp.club ) Her biggest wins so far was a trip to Disney land ( last year ) for 4 peeps, and 2 home picture theatre systems.( won two weeks apart )...so if luck has anything to do with it...then she considers herself very lucky, but she does enter everything that's going, and is a very, very, dedicated compoholic. Her motto is....if advertising promotion's want to give people freebies, then she will take e'm graciously. I can post up to 60 letters/comps a week, at any given time.( for the cost of the product and a stamp ) Other people spend there money on Smokes and Grog, but she does neither, so good luck to her. My kids buy her books of stamps and envelopes for Xmas, and birthdays...but thats what she asks for? Lara. I'm a middle of the month, and middle of the year kid..( Gemini ) 14/06/49..er. I dont consider myself over the hill yet, I'm just viewing the Valley on the other side....ha ha Age 57......looks 21...acts like a 7 year old....lol... but I'm a happy bloke...... :>))))))))) Loved ya Ozzie poem Lara. WT. Have emailed you with a possibility....but not 100% sure. The NBI i have is from 1538 - 1825 only. Mary. Hope your having great time in N.Z......it is such a beautiful Country. Anna. Loved your verse also. Dont worry about where we will get the time to fit it in...lol....but i have noticed a strange niceness and many more Phone calls from my kids over the last 24 hrs....LOL Sue.( Tassie Devil ) I dont win much either mate....not normally lucky when it comes to that ( although i did have a nice win on the Lotto last month ).but that took me 30 odd years to win...lol Do a 'google' on Ozzie comp's mate...you might be surprised......and win a freebie to Vic. for the Ozzie meet. Shame you cant come to Yarrawonga.......us being neighbours n' all....but we are coming over to Tassie this year.......but goodness know when?? Barb says, next time you do your grocery shopping, and your walking up and down the aisle, look out for comps on the products you buy, and enter them...cos someone is going to win.......and it might as well be you, if you use the product. Laurie. You must surely be getting a bit excited now mate, or is that an understatement!!..... I would already be packed, and saying that, i still havent properly unpacked since our U.K holiday last year, and the way madam is winning i might as well stay packed. Well...... might go make meself a tuna/sardine/salmon/????? sandwich. Av a good one. Tony Oz :>))

Morning All Firstly Lara you and my Mum share the same day for a birthday 31 July, and my Nans birthday is on 27 July, Tamika, my eldest girl is 24 July. Mine is on 6 Aug so you put my lot together you have 4 birthdays in 13 days. He He I just pip Rebs for being the baby as hers is on the 8th Aug, (I Think). Laurie you also share the same birth day as my brother 3 Sept. Well wouldnt you know it School goes back tomorrow, so the busses have decided to go on a strike for more money, it has been threatening for a couple of weeks and yesterday they decided to strike so no busses for today or tomorrow, at the moment. Apart from that not much is news. Been busy with a couple of contacts that we have helped each other out, no main branches but a little information and a few more names added to the little limbs on the side, so to speak. Tony how lucky you and Barb are and I cant even win enought to get to Yarrawonga Boo Hoo. Anyway good lucky to you both. Just what the doc ordered for Barb at this time, Hope you are keeping up the TLC. Catch you all after. Cheers Sue

Well good morning all wafflers from Botany Bay. I watched a mystical sunrise this morning, with light fluffy clouds about, the sun rising was spectacular. The great iron giraffes had all the colours in the sky behind them - it only lasted a short time - but I sat out with a cuppa on the balcony and enjoyed it. We dined out for Valentines day last night - candles, chicken salad, & a nice bottle of red on the beach. I didn't get flowers, as the bunch I got on Saturday are still bewdiful . . . but I did get a lovely card. Ray got a nice card and a cherry ripe in his lunch box - but dont think the email I sent him about lovely old farts like him was appreciated. Lara, I'm a Virgo - 3/9/50 . . . but as I was born on Fathers Day, so thats when we've always celebrated the event. Thats how my Dad always told me I got my name, he registered me before Mum was out of hospital, went to court house on the Monday - I was his trophy, his Laurel wreath! Mum lost a nephew during the war Lawrence (Laurie) so thats how I got the other version. I just think that being number 9 they were running out of ideas for names. Mind you I think I can remember being shocked to find out my name was just Laurel, for the first few years i think I thought I was Joanmariejohnpatriciacherryvickigeofferylaurelkennneeetthhh! (I didn't loose count - Michael died before I was born) Hi Shaz girl, nice to have you back after your trubs with the dreaded mice! That would be great if Pat & Joy were able to go to Yarrawonga with you - for those of you who dont know them, both the girls came to our lunch at the Casino before Christmas, and Pat came to our first ever mini-meet up. Both lovely ladies. Dont you just love the puter literate - they have a whole different way of talking to us not so techy peeps. Puters don't phase me - thats probably why they have such a short lifespan in my company. First puter I worked on was the size of a shopping Mall - at Dept of defence in Canberra, so this little thing in front of me is nothing to worry about -its a toy! Wonder what books Lara is reading to have stories about pole dancing ?? (note to check out her library while in Yarrawonga). Was thinking last night of a good book to take on long flights with me - decided dont need to - have lappy will be entertained by going ons on wattle thread! Hi to Mary, so glad you are getting to drop in and let us know your OK - keep enjoying that holiday! I think Leah might be about - she indicated last time that she is keeping up and reading our thread. If so Hi Leah, about time you popped in and said hello. Hope all is good. I have a dreadful day ahead of me - just know I am going to be majorly depressed tonight . . have lots of bills to pay includeing two lots of Qld rates . . . lots of money out and nothing to show for it at the end of the day! I guess I could do a parade of the receipts for hubby, glue them all together and make a new top for myself! 'Fashions from the House of Bill' 14 Sleeps to departure day . . . now thats cheered me up no end! Bye for now . . . avagooday luv Laurie

And top of the morning to you all Hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day. Glad to hear that hubby remembered you Lew even though he was far away. And Vonny - so long as I don't have to cook it - any meal is gratefully received! We didn't do anything special today (got a beautiful red rose though) because we've booked to go to Amici Forever in Brisbane on Saturday night. I just love them and they are only doing one concert in Bris so am really looking forward to it. I always have their CD's playing. If you don't know them, they are 4 classically trained young opera singers, 2 girls and 2 boys, who sing like angels - all the really well known and beautiful classical pieces. They are extremely good looking young people and dress to kill - they are the whole package as far as I'm concerned! They are based in London but 1 guy is from NZ and one of the girls is from South Africa. I wanted to post this lovely verse yesterday but didn't get time. Something special to share with loved ones. 'What really matters most to me.' 'I've brought along a bulging bag of time for us to share in the quiet of our hearts It's full of the things I long to share with you - who I've met, where I've been something that I've read A joy, a joke, a tease, a dream a touch of make believe a thought that won't lie down A mess, a plea, a quandary, a decision to be made feelings far from home It doesn't really matter what it happens to be what really matters most to me is that I can share my life with you.' (Noel Davis) Isn't that beautiful? Share it with a loved one today. And I guess this applies to our Wattlers Club too - we can all share with each other - a joke, a worry, a joy and it enriches our lives. Tony - what a wonderful surprise for Barb and you. Congratulations - a most opportune time for it to come your way. Enjoy! But when are you going to fit it in? You'll have to give up work to take permanent holidays! Lara - my birthdate was 22.5.1945. A Gemini but on the cusp with Taurus. I think I'm more often the plodding old bull than the mercurial Gemini! Liked your Aussie pride poem. Well - must away and do some house work. Chris has gone to do a day's supply teaching so I'd better have somethng to show for my day at home when he gets back from work! Catch you all later Anna

Tony & Barb - Congrats - but I'm sure you don't have enough spare days for another holiday - LOL - you could make money out of this and put it up for the highest bidder - then you'd have more spending money for Scotland.
