Hi Tony,a faggot here is a welsh delicacy which,if you have never tried ,you havn't lived,it's the first dish i have when i'm down there on holiday really tastynot at all like the rubbish you can buy at the shops . you made me laugh with your other meaning of faggot, lol,i take it you choked at a vision of a large saucepan on the stove with a pair of legs sticking out complete with bondo boots on . Still it snows and it looks like Fred is going nowhere for a day or too, still not to worry i have my puter ,a dvd player.plenty of tapes and dvds ,so bring it on,and maybe at the end of this our spring will start. I am having to keep Mary's chalet under heat all day ,seeing as the missus put the tomato seeds in yesterday, and one of the breeds i put in you can't buy anymore ,a lovely tiny sweet tomato called sugar plum which i have reintroduced into our liitle community[genes ]for a few people to try, hoping they will like them so much they will keep some seeds for future use by themselves and friends. It's a pity the laws are so stict now as i would willingly send some abroad ,i rate them that highly. Time to go again,i have the missus help me turn the mattress on the bed and when she is finished she can get her breath back while i see to the dusting and hoovering upstairs ,Have a good evening all i may be back later,Fred. |

Fred.Aahhhhhh.... I'm glad you cleared that up with the Chuck, because i was wondering what a chuck was also...hee hee I tried to 'Google' it thinking it might be a English delicacy.....I also thought like Joodles ( Chuck steak ) I did think at one stage you were having a freindly dig at the Kiwi's....Chuck/Chook......LOL...so i was at least on the right thinking track. Chuck has multiple meanings here, and can be an Ozzie slang word for ( throwing up ) or to Chuck a wobbly ( get angry ) or to throw something ( Chuck the bottle opener over here ) When i first started Genealogy on the net, i joined a few Rootsweb groups, and joined in halfway on a conversation by an English lady who was talking about cooking Faggots. Well....( being an Ozzie ) i nearly spilt my beer into my Weeties, and asked her.... 'How do you cook a faggot...!!! There were 5 other Ozzies on the site at the time, and one rang my home phone, and said...Tony!! does this lady know what she is saying. Well we all ( Ozzies )had a history lesson that day, in the culinary delights of Cooking ( in the Middle ages )in Britain. Hence....Faggots were called 'savoury ducks' in the Middle Ages, but to this 50s child, and school drop out growing up in Oz..it had a completely different meaning. Damn.....there's that cultural difference creeping in again....lol Lara. You crack me up sometimes mate....:>)) 'Run Billie run....psml Tony Oz..:>)) |

EEEEErr,Anna a chuck is an old country word for a chicken, you know kids language chuckie egg Hence chuck, sorry about that.Chuck steak in an oven,i dont think so.you lot are right there ,what a waste of taste that would be, Most other joints of beef i pot roast to make them tender and juicy sluuurp..Enjoy your sun all ,i woke up to a white world brrrr it's Bl*** freezing here,a day to spend indoors No visits to the sons today and will have to content myself with a phone call instead. Still feeling a bit tired this morning after some daft skite woke me up banging around with what could have been a lead digeredoo by the noise it made hee hee.Have to go for now ,i have to make sure the missus is awake and reading a book till it warms up enough to get her.out of bed,if she is still asleep i will sprinkle a little cold water on her ,that always works lol.Fred |

Vonny, I think your Christopher could possibly be a person they were saying on either the records or the tips board (sorry I cannot remember - oh dear sm I think) who was in WA and recorded grave stone inscriptions. If it is the same one (and apologies Chistopher if you are not one and the same) then he has been contacting many people who may have a match. Some angst about that I think Maybe have a search on tips and records board with his name to see if my memory is what it used to be lol JA |

Uh oohhh it took a little longer to get to the half way point with the lawn mowing. It appears the mower was not co operating :( Hubby spent 2 hours start.....stop.....start.....stop. He had to end up cutting the back corner with the whipper snipper.....not happy Jan! I looked out the back at one stage to see him sitting on a stool surrounded by bits & pieces of the **#*^#*#^^ mower (his description, not mine!). At least it's all done now and the yard looks a treat. He even sucked up all the leaves AND trimmed the hedge. Isn't he a darling :o). He says he is looking forward to going back to work on Wednesday ha ha Re: the thread puller (known hereafter as the Phantom Puller :o) thank you Graham Kennedy) Some people wouldn't know a joke if it jumped up in their corn flakes! If a thread or post is degrading or hurtful to a person or group then, of course, it should be pulled. Otherwise LEAVE IT ALONE. I feel better now....always helps to get things off yer chest :o) See y'all later Hugs to all the wafflers Trifley |
