Does bumsoddy know how much teeny little cassettes are (dictaphone type) - and where you can get them - I mean are they expensive, or should I go on ebay? I want to tape a relative's story. Jood

Hi Jil..I have the marriage cert, for Catherine Moran and Frederick George Foster.. Cant find the Fosters family. Dont know where Fred was born or his father Charles.. My brick wall is Catherines grandfather who is a ignoramous...I would throttle him if he was here..He was illiterate and when he got married he signed his name with a x and he has made so many mistakes with his names and where he was born etc, he has sent me crazy...I dont think he knew how to spell his surname and I think it has gone from Bartlet....to Bartle.to..Bartlett.I have been searching for the birth of Catherines mother Jemima and think I may have found it registered as Jemmima ? Bartle..and today ordered the cert.. I hope it is not a waste of money..I thought if I found a member of the family they may be able to set me straight...or crooked or go round in circles or up and down or crazy,,, nothing wrong with me ,,, do you get the impression that I am stymied and STUCK.....LOL Lara Lovely to see ya hun.. Take it easy and enjoy despite the next door neighbours...Its bbb cold down here..so stay there as long as you can...We exchanged contracts for both properties on the same day so hope we can do it on the final exchange..just so good..cant wait to move in to the new place... Really must do some sorting tomorrow.. been putting it off,,,naughty girl.... Love Maryxxx

Hi Mary, I used to live near Woolwich which was a docks area, he was a mariner, Charles Foster that is, give me a couple of days while I think this out, it's not all putas but what and where you came from sometimes, different sides of the river an all that, you have to just figure out the connection, I'm probably not making a lot of sense right now but I know what I mean, lol Jillx

Judy

Judy Report 3 Jul 2006 12:30

Jillaroo Report 3 Jul 2006 13:09

JOODS! my dear! golly gosh and all tat, Woolwich was in the finest place of the dregs of dockland, now called Dockland with a capital D, funny how development near the city can change ones regard of ones neighbours, oops yes thats right the old neighboughs can't afford to live there any more, I think they killed them off by putting them in high rises in a place called Thamesmead, probably one day that will become a posh area, London is so vast and inhuman I am so glad I came to Australia. Jillxx, Gawd Jill with her heart on her sleeve tonight, must be that photo my sis sent me.xx sorry thanks for reading

Hi all Good to hear from you Lara - have a safe trip. You didn't say whether you enjoyed Menopause! Tony must be due back soon - just in time for the next Lotto! I'm feeling absolutely drained. Have had a few family members come to me over the past few days with problems they needed to talk about. I feel so helpless as I can't really help and I tend to take it all on board and worry about it. At least I was there to listen even if I can't offer any solutions. Our little Dixie pig is going to the vet tomorrow to be put to sleep. Katherine and I have been hand feeding her to keep her alive but she is not getting any better and the kindest thing is to let her go. Poor little darling - and of course Katherine is so sad. Am off to bed - am dog tired. Catch you all tomorrow Luv Anna

Evening Wonderful Wattlers Hi Lew & SuzyQ....sorry I couldn't speak to you on MSN this arvo...I was showing Favourite Nephew my new lappy and was a little busy. Lew...keep the fluids up and get plenty of rest....you'll be better in no time. It's a pity you are not up here....we have a fantabulous, warm, sunny day. Hi Jill...the fishies are ok. We got an extension lead and plugged the pump and heater in to another point to keep them alive untill the electrician got the circuit breaker fixed. The little darlings need to be kept in at about 26* or they go belly up. Thank the gods we didn't lose any. Hi Vonny..is Watty enjoying Chaing Mai? Hope your are too. Laurie...loved the emails...I bet the bishop did too..lol Lara....how was Menopause the Musical? A regal ~~~~~wave to the happy Shaz, Little Duck, Devily, and Cat person. Yvette....take it easy and get plenty of rest...the body needs that after a general anaesthetic. Anna...sorry to hear about Dixie. It is for the best even though it is very sad. Give Katherine a hug for me........I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Sorry...today, didn't realise it was after midnight. After Favourite Nephew left I spent a couple of hours trotting between putas copying files. I found a working USB port on the old '98' so I used a memory stick and copied files onto that and transferred them to the new lap top. Gosh....I didn't know I was that clever. And all without an instruction manual! I must be getting in touch with my masculine side...lol. Now I have my Wattle file on here so all your happy faces arel cycling through my screan-saver. I think it's time for bed so I'll bid you all a good sleep and I'll see you tomorrow. love Trifley X

good morning, can't believe the time. just been buzzing through the last couple of pages before heading back to bed. Jood, why don't you get an MP3 player? you can use it for storage for f/h stuff, take files to other peoples places and record music off your 'puter to listen too and best of all - record your own sound files and then stick them on your 'puter.Otherwise , i'm sure that dick smith and tandy still sell those little cassettes. thanks again for good wishes. i feel quite humble. after finding out about some peoples sadness and illness, my 'widdle sore 'ed' all kinda fades into insignificance. Has any body seen the movies, 'Under the Tuscan Sun' & Must like Dogs. i'm not a movie or telly watcher, but these 2 take the cake for lovely girly stuff. lotsa love Yvette

Morning all ~~~WELCOME HOME TONY~~~ No, guys, I dont know when he is due home, but I'm getting in first. Yvette, no - I dont think I need an mp3 player. I have music on this big pc, and I have 2 memory sticks and 2 lappy's. .. I guess I could take my radio and use the cassette part of it, but just fancied a teeny small hand held tape recorder. Quite impractical really. .. Never mind, I'll look around on ebay. You've had a bad day Anna, I am so sorry to hear about Dixie, but as you say, - it's kinder in the long run. .. Thoughts are with you. Off to have my shower and brekky Jood

Good morning all, came in via the general board and got caught having a good laugh at the old Atlantic Blue - he really likes to stir doesn't he! Raining here at Botany Bay, has been for most of the night, can't see a giraffe for the clouds, or much else for that matter. I have to go into town today too, so not looking forward to that - def. a raincoat and brolley day! If its today you get home Tony, welcome back - if your shopping in Singapore, enjoy the warm weather - dont think you will get much for a while at home!!! Imagine you will have your lovely daughters chaffing at the bit to see you return, they will have missed you heaps. Big (((hug))) for Anna, was going to say hope today is a better one for you - but think not! You dont have to fix everyones problems girl - just being there to listen is heaps. You know that the best solved problem is one we do for ourselves, and if by listening you give the person the avenue to sort out their thoughts then well done you !!! Such sad news about the wee baby up there - special thoughts for the family and the firemen, and all the other emergency services who have been effected. Yvette, how you feeling this morning ?? Take care! Thanks for the lovely pickles Lew, you should be very proud of the end result - looks lovely, can just see a lot of waffling wattlers hanging around the pool !!! Off to get ready for the trek totown - take care all Well done Lleyton!!! cheers luv Laurie
