Hi WT Guess you haven't heard of Amstrad down there?? Sir Alan Michael Sugar (born 24 March 1947 in Hackney, London) is an English businessman. He has an estimated fortune of £760 million and was ranked 55th Sunday Times Rich List 2005. He left Brooke House School at the age of sixteen and was briefly a civil service statistician. It wasn't long before Sugar went into business selling products such as cigarette lighters, intercoms and TV aerials. He is a donor to the British Labour Party. In 2005 he stepped into the American entrepreneur Donald Trump's shoes in the BBC version of the hit American TV series The Apprentice, with The Apprentice UK. He was knighted in 2000 for his contributions to business. Amstrad In 1968 he went on to found the electronics and computer company Amstrad (the name being taken from his initials – Alan Michael Sugar Trading).

Well I've learnt something new already today - can go back to bed :-) Didn't know why Amstrad was so called. Mind you that was the year I was born - probably why I don't see the attention in him either! Penny

Penny He is probably only attractive to ladies of a certain age, (and some would say to those of us that are suffering from poor vision or a mental condition!!) ;-))

The programme re Tim was quite interesting - I think they said he was doing a 70 hour week . I know he was on £100k a week but is it worth it?

Difficult to say really, Penny, some people seem to thrive on long hours, just hope he doesn't burn himself out Dee x

Could start a new thread - how many hours does your partner work? It wouldn't apply to us members on genes unless you count hours on the boards as work :-)
