Hannah it was - did not want banns called - did not want registry office and minister said could avoid banns with special licence and then said I could marry in own home - this was in the seventies but was, at that time, resident in N. Ireland and apparently this was the norm there and in Scotland. Ann |

In my local church the first time and had all the trimmings at a great expense to my parents, but the second time I got married in the local registrar office! Marie |

got a special licence to get married in the church I went to as a teenager, wasn't in the parish we lived in and didn't want the big parish church and by then I was living and working 100 miles away. Was same vicar that had been there when I went to youth club there so made it more special |
