Our catholic vs science education was taught by a 90 year old science teacher man who couldn't control a class if he wanted to. He had his trusty video and left everyone to it (watching the videos I mean, educational ones)

Wow...best pay attention then Lucia my love...then you are less likely to end up, with all sorts of unwanted things including a baby.

Daniel are you sure? who would supervise do you think? the teacher! not quite the same as a science prac or footy practice1 Lucia, I'd be the same, I know I could never have an abortion but if I realy couldn't look after the child I would as social services to give the child a home. The thought of aborting a child is not an option to me. **thank goodness we had a banana shortage!**

omg!! I HATE sex education lessons. In December we had to practice putting condoms on models. It was so funny though because we got to try it with drunk glasses.

Daniel

Daniel Report 22 Feb 2006 21:07

I still think we should have had practial lessons.

It's ment to deter you nat encourage you Dan! satistically a teenage mum is more likely to have a child with genetic abnormalities and a premature baby than a mum in her mid to late 20's, just like as the mum gets older the risk of gentic abnormalities increase (e.g. Down's / trisomy 21). Odds are if they told you that in school you would think twice before having a baby as a teenager. I've actually known one such case. A girl in my class had a baby at 14, the baby was born at 20 weeks gestation, no chance to save her and the little one died - she would have been a beutiful child had she lived and would be 8 now.

I'm not intending getting pregnant until I'm married. But if something really bad happens ie I get raped then I would keep the baby because I don't believe in abortion.

I was very disappointed to hear that a girl I used to know at school after shacking up with my neighbour (deffo not a catch) had had a baby with him. That's such a waste.

Can I add, I have no daughters, but if I did I would not advocate them being pregnant at 16, but I would rather be told that than she is terminally ill. So no not advisable, but not the worst news in the world....just a thought

Daniel Report 22 Feb 2006 21:00

Well they never encouraged it my school Lunur, but I might have been off that day.

Sadly haveing a baby when you very young can be as dangerous as waiting until your older (over 35 / 40). Young mum's get more problems, shame thay don't tell you that in school! There you go then, you wouldn't be the first but at least you couldn't marry at 15 like she could! I was always threatened with being shiped to the US and married off at 13 (nan's weird humour)

Lunar, my great grandmother married aged 15, had her first baby at that age and didn't stop until 13 had popped out. That must have been painful.
