A pink bear has travelled the length of the country to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Used as a kind of 'baton', the bear has visited more places this year than the average Brit. Gaynor Bear, as she is named, has been to the Houses of Parliament, Whipsnade Zoo, Heathrow Airport, St Albans, and has even seen the Angel of the North, reports the Welwyn&Hatfield Times. Customers using the facilities at Heathrow might be pleased to know that ample airport car parking is pre-bookable online. Pre-booking parking often saves time and money at the airport and can be reserved conveniently with a click of a mouse. So far, the bear has raised £3,000 in sponsorship. MP Grant Shapps said he as delighted to see the bear in Parliament. 'She raised a great deal of interest from the Sergeant at Arms staff whilst inside the Palace and people kept asking about the reason for her visit. 'Since the purpose of Gaynor's visit was to back Cancer Research it was a real pleasure to enjoy a cup of tea on the terrace with such an unusual visitor. 'As far as I could tell, the bear enjoyed her visit.' |

Sorry folks, I just presumed you all knew you could 'Google' Gaynor Bear. Some info has been on for months. Think is was the Darlington report and Ro*ftop Housing report that was on first, which was about six months ago. Thank you all for everything you have done to make the Relay do so well. Jenny x |
