We only have to carry our day packs - the camels will carry everything else. My sleeping bag will be going inside my kit bag anyway - I don't want it smelling of camels! Plus it will stay dry if it rains. Jack x |

OK stupid question time. I am right in saying that the camels carry the sleeping bags and mats? If so do they need to be stowed in a bag of some sorts or do they just get rolled up/fastened up and then that's it? Obviously trying to avoid taking any unnecessary luggage with me! |

My bedroom looks like an outdoor shop! I haven't packed yet but have got stuff in nice organised piles all over the floor and have the few bits that I have ironed hung around. I too am taking my day pack on the plane as hand luggage with a spare pair of pants and socks incase my kit bag doesn't make it! I have got a seperate bag to go in my main bag for clothes and stuff for the last night. I am carrying a mustn't forget to pack list around with me and everytime I am hit by a bolt of inspiration I write it down. I have also got to pack Ellie's bag up for a week as she is going off on her own adventure while I am away. So much to do and so little time! Jack x |

With regards flying, is the idea to check in the big bag/rucksack and have the day pack (mine is 30L) as cabin luggage? Ah cheers, just seen your replies. I did read the emails but I think the answers to whatever questions I had got lost in the ether lol |

Hi Andy, i was planning to do it much the same way apart from i am going to carry my daypack as my hand luggage and have the bits i might need for travelling in that ie passport, money, phone, lippy(only kidding) etc. I think i might be trying to squeeze a smaller bag with my stuff for the last night inside my larger bag so it can be left at the hotel. oh gawd im starting to feel sick LOL Sheila x |

Ive packed and unpacked a couple of times now lol. Ive decided im going to do it properly on Thursday night, then if ive forgotten anything, ill go last minute shopping on Friday. All of my stuff really needs ironing again, but i think im going to just leave it creased as it is now(been ironed once lol) Andy I was going to use my day pack as hand luggage on the plane, and pack just a few essentials in it like clean underwear and shorts etc incase i lose my big Rucksack on route lol. My big rucksack has a separate bit at the bottom which fits my sleeping bag and mat etc. I think im just going to pack my day pack at the hotel on the Sat night/Sunday morning. Anna :-) |

Hi Sheila, not yet, still wondering which is the best way of doing it....as suitcases appear to be out, I was going to pack the day pack items into the day pack, then put the day pack, sleeping bag and mat into a much larger rucksack. How are you planning on doing it? |

I got all my stuff out before and sat looking at it for 10mins then decided i would do it later! I hate packing cos i never know what to take and what to leave at home, at least this time i wont be needing my usual 10 pairs of shoes :-) Sheila x |
