I am so dozy these days and can't always catch up on threads so I don't always notice folk are missing - my apologies. NIce to see you on here Harry. I have been meaning to ask for assistance for a while now and I think you are the person to help me, Harry. Does a female robin have a red breast too? We have a resident robin and also another bird which is the same shape as the robin, but a bit bigger, little short sharp beak, perky tail and rounded body, but she? is coloured mousy grey/brown on her breast and dark/tan brown markings on her wings. When she flies across the garden she kind of dips and flys like the robin does. i have seen them feeding at the same time and she flies off in the same direction as the robin. She hops round with the blackbirds after the food I put out. Is she robin's mate, do you think?

Sorry you are not on the A to Z, what,s that,?, but thanks jess for putting me thereon and taking the trouble to reply. PP . Would not like to be definate about the relationship of your robins. The male is usually a bit more colourful and slightly larger. He is also supposed to be the one who does the singing to proclaim that he is 'your' robin and not some interloper after a free feed. Fun finding these things out though. Best wishes. Happy days
