Nichola, I agree wholeheartedly with everything you have put in your first reply. Where was this questionaire and who completed it ? CHALLENGE :::: I would like everyone who actually completed it to add to this thread ! :::::::: I have made loads of friends during the last 3 years. These friendships will last a life time, and they are FREE. (I have e.mail addies safe !) I will look in from time to time .... and I have absolutely no doubt what so ever, that I will definately be pulling my hair out at not being able to add to the boards...... but I have the facilities and resources to be able to continue to do my FT at my leisure, and one day I will be in a position to make those long awaited journeys to the Records Offices to dig out those ellusive rellies !!.so watch out Manchester, Yorkshire and Devon !! I certainly will miss all my friends and the opportunities to help others ..... but life goes on and if I'm really pushed, I can always join up again at a later date. Elaine ;-)

Elaine, I got the questionnaire. It was still displaying every time I accessed the site, even after I'd returned my answers - which I'm certain were far from the answers they were expecting. I've had several problems crop up during my use of this site, but I've found GR only ever answered one query - and then the answer given didn't cover my question. Ever since then, they've completely ignored me, so I gave up trying to contact them and just moan on the Gen Board now if something goes wrong. The thing is, I'm not the only one complaining about these problems. Others obviousy have had the same difficulties, so I don't understand why GR can't put things right. If they employ competent programmers, then they should be able to sort things out fairly swiftly, not leave them annoying members for months. CB >|<

Well Elaine I'm out on the 26th April, so its a count down really, LOL. :-) :-) I'm not bothered either way to be honest, but like heather has said, she moaned to them and got her money back, but others have moaned and not go any money back. Cant say i'll missing anything as i am a member of a few sites, so im ok there. LOL. Sad i know. :-) The only thing im wondering about is, do i delete all my threads, as i have some very helpful ones etc, my tree is no longer on here, so wont have a problem deleting that, LOL. :-)

I really dont know what the fuss is about even if the charge for this site was £20 it would still be value for money Paul

N Report 23 Mar 2006 19:21

its not about the money Paul, that has already been established in the thread. :-) also thats you opinion and your entitled to it, just like myself and others are entitled to what we think. The members themselves who do look ups, offer advice, give tips, who are a shoulder to cry on, etc etc, are worth £10 yes. :-)

I disagree Paul (Tigger) This site is NOT worth £20. It's not worth £10. The members ARE worth Millions ... well, those who don't get wrapped up in other peoples arguments that don't concern them, that is. No disrespect to any one member. The members MAKE this site, and it should be made a lot clearer that no matter where you are, who you are, or how many years you have been a member, thats ALL you are ....... a member. We are all EQUAL and should be treated as such. ONE PRICE for ALL. EVERY member getting the questionaire to complete. I'm not leaving because of this 'situation' I just wanted to 'highlight' it with Genes before I left. Having said that, I WILL be back. I have tons of resources that benefit lots of others and if I can help I will do. However, at the moment I have more pressing things to attend to, so I have got to put this hobby to one side for a short while. My argument on that score is that when I am in a position to come back, I will have to pay the higher price......... Elaine ;-)
