Well Roy, that does explain the principle mechanism of these fire arms and I suppose one could understand better how such an 'accident' might occur. But the fact still remains, what would drive these four individuals, in such a short space of time, to want to do this? And I don't make this statement lightly, as each of these individuals parents have already come forward with these very same arguements, as only they knew their own sons/daughters, personalities, frame of mind and concerns surrounding what led up to all this in the first place. These are some of the questions to which they seek answers. And/or, what, if any other regulations might or might not have been put into practice to prevent such 'accident', after just one of these incidents had occurred? It would appear that there are too many thruthfully unanswered questions, for these parents to take and accept lying down and in my opinion, if their parents cannot get to the complete truth of the matter ~ then what chance Joe Public? Porkie pie.as i understand it,at least one of these fatalities was by a rifle bullet at close range. Being ex forces,how can you call a rifle small arms? One ex army firearms expert who had his evidence dis- allowed said it was impossible ,in at least one case for the wounds to be self inflicted,the first shot being instantly fatal,and the weapon used was not automatic.Fred.

Been in the forces myself and i know what goes on,there is a huge cover up going on ,has been for years,the police are still being warned off,and are a lot like a toothless bulldog, Nothiing will ever get done until someone puts a couple of moles into the system.Fred.

I thin k this is extremely sad and we will never know the truth cos the army won't allow us to!! may the indiviuals concerned haunt every bully there was and continue to do so for years!!

None of use here on this site have got access to ( ALL ) of the evidence, and the media releasing the bits that sensationalises the story that they want to tell, Robert, you say the independent police firearms expert concluded that in one case it was IMPOSSIBLE for the cause to be suicide. Five shots! You say, How can he be independent if he is a police firearms expert? And since the police do not have the expertise in this weapon system plus my own knowledge of this weapon then I would take his evidence with a pinch of salt. 5 shots, the weapon system used is capable of firing 650 rounds per min’s that is 10.83 rounds per second? Fred, as being ex forces you should no that any weapon that is hand held is small arms The SA80 is a rifle and classed as small arms. I was a 22 year man and i also no what goes on but I will repeat my original answer to the question (What do you think, is there a cover up?) And my answer was NO and still is NO If the question was, do i think the army was responsible for these deaths then the answer is, YES as they had failed in their responsibility to show a duty of care for these young poeple Roy and this is definitely my last word

my son has just left th army after five years service. It was tough but he really enjoyed his time there. He admits there are the odd individuals who seem to always go a little too far. If one soldier messes up, they discipline the whole section, one reason my son left, they seem to refuse to punish the offending soldiers individually . I know they need to work as a unit in combat but why should they all suffer for the few who are beyond discipline. Sadly, the army is way down in numbers and I think they can't afford to be too choosy

From what I heard on the news this recent inquiry did not have the power to question anyone other than those willing to volunteer information .......hands tied right from the start so it would seem that the powers that be do not want questions asked................that on its own does not inspire any confidance in the outcome......... I cannot imagine what it must be like for those parents who are trying to understand what happened to their youngsters and are not getting the answers they need to bring closure to these sad deaths. I am sure there must be a cover up. Thank goodness my son changed his mind about joining up. I feel so deeply for those parents and families involved. May the young people rest in peace.

Sorry porky,i thought i was talking side arms,but it dosn't change the fact that a refusal to hold an open inquiry,shows the army covering up evidence that went walkies before the investigation started,including the arms used being cleaned so no evidence would be forthcoming,on at least two occasions.,and thats my last say on the matter lol.Fred.
