Steph, part of the reason that your boss is your boss and earns more money than you is that he has staff (you), he is a manager and is paid to manage, he is also paid to look after your interests, so that the running of the office is smooth. if you are being badly treated by people from other offices and he doesn't know then he is not doing his job properly, he should be able to guage that all is not right with your world and act accordingly. if he is condoning the treatment he is also not doing his job properly. he might be a lovely boss but you are not paid to protect him. you must involve him because if you leave and it comes out why you have left it will reflect badly on your boss. As a start why not ask if there is a course that you can do to help you with your work, explain that you are finding it difficult which is causing problems with the other office and that youw ant to put it right. That way he will have to look into your problem. Ann Glos

Steph You stood your ground the other day with the fella upstairs so do the same now. Tell your boss and he will have to do something. Put it in writing and keep a copy. They are doing it because they think they can get away with it, bullies need to be stood up to. If not your boss send HO at letter. Tell them because of the situation you feel that if it carries on you will have to leave. Good luck dawniex

Sorry sorry, im not explaining this all properly, There is only me and my boss in accounts in this office, everyone else is leaving in different departments...sorry. I get help from the head office, theres a handful of people who are great and so helpful, but others are...well how ive explained I dont want to talk to my boss because once things are out in the open about how people speak to eachother it honestly will only make things worse, hes not blind, he sees what goes on, and although he doesnt know im unhappy with how i get spoken to if i was to tell him there is nothing that he could do, apart from ask for some action to be done with it which will only make things worse. It seems that things arent dealt with properly, and the only thing to do is put up with it or leave, im trying to do the latter but with no success xx

Steedie Maybe your lovely boss should be made aware as to why so many people are leaving........ Hang on in there, there is only a few more hours before your working day finishes. I really hope tomorrow is a little better for you. Rosi

Stephanie Report 30 Mar 2006 13:40

Jewels, i knwo your right, and now it looks like im not helping myself, but honestly he cant stop people from talkin to me the way they do, if the office manager cant smooth out things then he wont be able to. In a way i dont want it all out in the open and brought up, because it was proved the other day that when they are things only get worse. Thats exactly what my lovely best friend said, her mum had to stop her from coming to my office and giving them all what for!!! xx

Steph talk to your boss now! If anything can be done he is the one who can do it and he would be gutted if he thought people couldn't talk to him about things. You don't need to take this kind of petty backbiting by people who should know better! Ooh if I was nearer! Julie xxx

Thank you Rosi. I just want to go somehwere else so badly now, so many have people have left and the place has a bad atmosphere. My boss is lovely, but he doesnt realise whats going on, and i know there is just no point in telling him because there is just nothing that can be done xx

Stephanie

Stephanie Report 30 Mar 2006 13:14

i know i should be telling them but there is honestly no one to tell. My collegue has just reorted bullying and it was all dragged into the open and now she has just taken a day off sick cos of it all and wants to leave. Aaron would be so disappointed if i left without having somehwere else to go, i just feel so stuck in a rut. Pink took the time and re-did my cv for me and im trying so hard to get a new job just not getting anywhere. Just popped out for a fag, but better get back to this work otherwise its just gonna pile up! xxx

Have you tried the direct approach? 'I know this must be irritating me keep asking you questions but could you be just a little less condescending? After all, we are all grown ups here aren't we?' Failing that 'Oh **** off' works for me, then strop off home and get a doctors note and write into the company head office telling them you are being bullied! Julie xxx
