Hi Pink No he is not deaf, but his mum teaches him wee thing's. My son has picked it up very well and if they in a busy noisy place they sign away to each other. I was worried that teaching him at a very,very young age would hold back his speaking but, I had nothing to worry about. He told you when he needed a drink or was hungry before he could say it. It saved a lot of tears when normally you would not know what was wrong with him. Marion

My two year old son, watches Something Special everyday, he is fasinated by the sign language. We were out the other day and he said ' chips, you sign chips' and made the action for sign and pointed at his chips. I was so pleased. Think I will look into taking him to lessons, they do a rhyme and sign, near where I live. catherine x

Marion - Interpreters can't be deaf as they need to hear what is being said and sign it to the deaf people concerned!! What I was meaning was if his mum keeps teaching him to sign then he'll have a profession with his hands before he passes a single GCSE!! :o) xx

Will make a note of that Diana - thanks! As a deaf/hard of hearing person, I have had no need to learn sign language as I have always mixed with hearing people. So I only know that vowels. :-)
