Does anyone have this program on their computer. I have been told you can talk online to anyone anywhere in the world for free, you just need headphones. If anyone has this, can you please let me know if its worth downloading. |

Hello Jacqueline. I have Skype but have only used in test with my daughter and husband as a test before they moved to Spain. They intend to settle there and converse thro’ Skype. Needless to say they haven’t yet settled but in the test it was perfect. It costs nothing, I already have ear phones and mike so there was no cost outlay. If you want to use it to contact through BT then of course you will have to pay If you have the spare capacity on your hard drive then go for it. Brian (i) |

Jacqueline, you can also use Yahoo as well as MSN and do this, Skype is very slow compared to Yahoo, from one who knows and has converted loads to Sky*** Babs |

Thanks for your replies, i think i will download it and get my family to do the same, that way we can save on those overseas phone calls. I do have msn also but when i was told of this site, thought it would be nice to talk instead of type when chatting to family. |

Jacqueline, you go to messenger on a full screen and go to action and then voice/video then start a voice conversation. |

I have Skype, and you don't need headphones or mike when you have a webcam with built in microphone... mine has run perfect as I talk to Oz regularly. Anne:))) |

The one thing you can do with Skype that you can't do with MSN is to dial their landline telephone and talk from your PC direct with them on their telephone, calls are very cheap, U.K. to Australia, your PC to their landline telephone = 2p per minute. You can also dial the Telediscount phone centre and call Australia at about 3p per minute land line to landline, just do a Google for telediscount, no subscription and no fees, it works, we use it all the time, a 30 minute phone call to my friend in Cyprus from the U.K. cost 70p on my last telephone bill. Telediscount works with Telewest, BT and NTL telephone lines. Carol www*genealogyprinters*com |
