Well I was cheering on Cambridge, my only reasons being through knowing Daisy, and East Anglia University was one of my Uni choices some years ago. Not to be though. :-( I noticed during commentary though that they said Oxford had a pump for getting rid of excess water whereas Cambridge didn't. I'm assuming this was Cambridge's choice not to have one, but carrying the excess water that got into the boat won't have helped them at all.

When I was a child our family always supported Cambridge and as and adult I still support them. My grandmother and her family came from Cambridgeshire so that was probably the reason. Viv

When I was the Family Twiglet and living in Wimbledon Grandad took me every year. We would watch them putting the boats in the water at Putney, and follow the race along the Towpath. At Mortlake there was a Cafe which did a nice Brisket sandwich. I was usually annoyed with Nan as she made me wear my Mac which was dark blue and I supported CAMBRIDGE!!!!

Not bothered now, but when I was a child we supported Cambridge as we had family friends whose surname was Cambridge. Mum even made us little light blue dolly pins to wear. My great-grandmother Emma was born in Cambridge in 1843, as were her parents, but on the other hand my great-great-great grandfather Robert was born in Aston Rowant in Oxfordshire. So I still can't work up any enthusiasm any more. Sorry! nell

I have the greatest respect for both teams, even if their boats are considerably lighter than the four I used to row in. (The wooden ones, when wet, proved too heavy for us to carry back to the boat house and the ONLY time I ever raced in an eight, I caught a crab.) But it has to be... CAMBRIDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
