R.I.P. Gene The last song he sang was 'A Town without Pity', one of his best,I think. Saw him when he was interviewed recently,he came across as really nice and sincere. Mau x

Saw the TV news item about this...............such a shock. He looked so well during the last interview, just before the tour started. I did manage to see him live.........back in 1964. A unique voice, and a talented songwriter. RIP Reg

Oh how dreadful, another one gone. His is one of the voices that just brings back my teenage years as soon as I hear it. 24 Hours from Tulsa - one of my sisters first records and she played it and played it. Guys, I am seriously thinking we should try to make the most of each day and forget the savings and pensions bit.

yes very sad Julie a similar thing happened to us, My son has waited for years to see some of the real WWF wrestling stars and we had tickets to go see Yoko Suna. One of my sons fave wrestler and just before we were due to go he died of a massive heart attack in his hotel room. Mind you he was so over weight it is no wonder.

It is very sad, let's hope he didn't suffer at all, but how sad to die alone. He will be missed by many people as his voice was very haunting. All the good ones are going too early. Sue
