We used to go camping when the kids were little but still had all the comforts of home. We had a hook up in the tent so had tv for them to watch, somewhere to plug my hairdyer etc etc... :-))))

we have a 2 year old in Aus who loves camping - has her own rucksack to carry and sleeping bag - when asked where she was going said the Outback - I thought she meant the back yard but it IS the outback.

In times gone by I took my children on several camping holidays and we all loved it - they did more than I probably because as a single parent it was hard work. It was a cheap holiday though, and I couldn't afford any other. It was their father who took them skiing and to foreign parts - (a reference to Derek's thread on the CSA here). We saw lots of the Lake district that way and met some lovely people. There's a lot of cameraderie amongst campers. Nowadays, with the children grown, my aching bones prefer to camp at the Best Western or some other bricks and mortar establishment. Camping is for youngsters! :-)

Not me luvvie ... like a nice comfy bed ... proper toilet, en suite, and shower. Went camping when I was a brownie (a hundred years ago) and didn't like all those creepie crawlies and things that go bump in the night. Jean x.

I went camping last year with my daughter & family, first time since I was a teenager. Things are very different now, we had electricity, a private loo & a shower shared with only one other family. Booked too late to get an exclusive one. I enjoyed it, would be happy to go again. Vivienne
