Thank you for your replies, yes i really feel i want to be supportive and help where i can, a new baby can be hard to cope with at the best of times let alone in these circumstances, there are also 4 other children to be concidered too. It's the way my brother died that puts a very different angle on it, i feel frustrated and angry at him at times. The circumstances that lead upto his death as left my parents very bitter towards his partner, therefore they have unfortunately turned their backs on her. I do however understand why they are feeling this way but i feel torn between them and my sister in law.... Lib

I'm sorry about your brother, I'm sure he'd want you to be pleased about his daughter's birth though. His partner will need support from your family too -it's hard being a new mum. It's not being disloyal about your brother to be pleased about the baby. Jacquie XXX

As some of you already know my 33yr old brother died on December 9th 2005. His partner was 5+ month pregnant at the time, ive just learned she gave birth to a little Girl (Nicole) on the 30th March. Im very happy about the new arrival but deeply sad and emotional that he is'nt here to celebrate too, the thought of the baby never knowing her daddy is heart breaking, im a bag of mixed emotion at the moment....Just wanted to share this with you all......Lib x
