Yvette Thanks for the update. So often people put emotional threads on the boards and then you never hear from them. It sounds like it will all get sorted, which is good and hopefully all's well that ends well. nell [the son I was moaning about yesterday brought me a cup of tea in bed this morning and came home from school and asked me to give him a cuddle!]

Glad David came back again and so you aren't worried as you were yesterday. It will do him good to live on his own and learn to manage his finances etc and I am sure you will all be find together, as I am now with Guy. Good luck. Liz

Hi Yvette, I am pleased that David has come home and that things are getting sorted. I hope that he manages to find somewhere else to live soon, and that it goes well for you all. Jill xx (thanks for the update)

Hi Yvette, It's difficult when teenagers begin relationships. Our rule was that there were to be no 'one night stands' under our roof but if he was in a stable relationship then it was open to discussion. When he had been seeing his partner for 3 months we had the discussion and said it was OK with us. It was a bit embarrassing initially and we had to remember not to wander around naked but she is part of the family now and they will be setting up home together soon. If you explain that you need to get to know his girlfriend better before feeling confortable with her under your roof maybe he will understand. Gwynne

Glad that he is home and you know he is safe now. Teenagers!!! never mind they don't stay like that they do grow up eventually . You take care now. Germaine x

So pleased to hear things are going in the right direction, and I do firmly agree with you about not allowing his girlfriend to stay over night, its your house and you have to feel happy and comfortable with what goes on in it. It will get better from someone who has been there knows, hope it continues to work out for you. Pam XXXX

Yvette, I am so pleased that everything seems to be working out. Dread Ellie hitting the teens! I remember when I was 17 I asked my dad if my boyfriend could stay over, I'd been seeing him for a while and we were in a steady relationship so my dad said although he wasn't completely happy about us sharing a room it was ok. He always said that whatever I wanted to get up to I would do it anyway but at least he knew I was safe under his roof. My boyfriends parents allowed me to stay but in the spare room! Everyone is different. As parents we can only do what we believe to be right. Love Jack xx

Hi Yvette So pleased that things are looking better now. It sounds to me as though you have a lovely son but he is going out with a spoilt young lady who is putting pressure on him to get what she wants. It's your house and you are entitled to only allow what you feel comfortable with. Chrissie xx

Yvette, as old as he thinks he is he is still only a boy. Give him time, he will grow up. he does NOT have bad genes.. he is rebelling and that is normal!! Motherhood is the most difficult job in the world, all you can do is love him.... and you do already so it will work out. Deanna X ((((hugs))))
