My grandad died when I was 11 but I spent a lot of time with him & my nan when little. I always his princess with the long dark hair...I often wonder what he would of said when I got it chopped off at 19!! I was talking to my nan recently about what he would of thought about my little 'un....apparently she reakons he would of booted me up the backside for being so foolish (ie not in a rship) & then give us bot lots of cuddles..... He was so geogorous & handsome, I know my son has his genes in him!

Too many to add - but one for my Gramps----- He often said ' you can sleep all you want when you are dead, enjoy yourself now' and when he was put on heart tablets at the age of 82 he was told he could only drink one pint of bitter a day, poor man he loved a drink, so he stored them all up for a Friday night and then had 7 pints!! lol lol, what a man, we didn't tell him it was bad for him as he enjoyed his Friday night out so much we let him be! God bless him, my hero he passed in 1997 age 83 I love a good old drink on a Friday night Joanne

My lovely Nan, i use to visit her as often as i could since grandad died, she lived in Wales and i in kent but last year i still managed 9 times. She died on January 4th this year and she was in her 89th year.(good inings). Still miss her dearly.. NAN I have the fondest memories of me when i was small Crying for a lady i wanted most of all My Nan the one who made me feel so precious and so loved As if i'd arrived by special delivery from angels up above The one whose scent i buried my weary head in sleep These are the special memories that i know i will always keep The Nan who stood beside me only ever seeing good Filling my hungry tummy with the most delicios food Like a pillar standing strong for me My angel in disguise showing all she felt for me through her soft and loving eyes. Love you always and forever Nan..

My sister and I used to occasionally take my gran, then in her 90's to the pub for a meal and a pint. She was so happy then, with her pink cheeks glowing, a twinkle in her eye, she would burst into song. Unfortunately when she had to go into a home, we couldn't persuade her to come out with us, but she continued singing. When Gran stopped singing, matron phoned us up, very worried. the doctor could find nothing wrong with her. She took to her bed and just gave up life within a fortnight, aged 99. maggie

One of my many happy memories of my nan was when she used to argue with grandad, she used to say 'go sh*t a brick side ways....' I still smile at the thought of it, god bless you nan, forever in my heart. Bev

Howie you're welcome - enjoy them xx Have lots but some of my favs are:- My Nanny used to have a magic Creme Egg Plant. I thought it was magic that everytime we went to her house hanging in its macrame holder her pot plant 'laid' us an egg. My Grannymums (other grandma) used to have set honey in a plastic tub with squirrels and flowers on it and a terrible kitsch picture of a Mexican boy with large hat holding a water jug with a tear in his eye. Strange the things you remember x

Memories of my gran...woh what a woman.... She taught me so much from knitting, sewing, cooking, forward rolls on her bed & even riding a bike.... She never got cross or lost her patience..... lost her last year to cancer I miss her so much...wish she was still here to teach my little one all these things.

On sunday august 5th 1984......me...my brother..my girlfriend and a few mates had gone to a pub about 5 miles away. It was a lovely evening....we sat in the garden.....and could hear the charts on in the pub.......Frankie ges to Hollywood...Two Tribes.....number 1 again...!! My brother said.....'I bet we'll be sat here in 12 months and they'll still be at number 1.....!!!' We left about 8.30 and he was killed on the way home. I dont know why but that always sticks in my mind and the song always reminds me of that night. Nick

Too many to mention, but the first one that comes to mind is when I used to visit my paternal grandparents for two weeks each year, evenings were often chilly and my grandfather used to wrap my nightie in a hot water bottle before I went to bed. Just a little thing but it was much appreciated.
