Ramsgate and Margate were on our list but we have had reports of real drug probs there? Id ideally like to be in a large coastal village, small enough to quickly become part of the community but with plenty going on in the way of museums, history, local activities BUT hubby desperate to be able to see the sea!

Heather Pretty much most of the Kent coast has sandy beaches. Are you near enough to maybe have a trip out each weekend to check them out?? Margate - Ramsgate - Hythe - Minnis Bay - Joss Bay to name but a few :O))

Funnily enough I spent nearly every childhood holiday in a caravan at Camber but its a bit quiet, isnt it or has it changed? About dogs on beach, I appreciate 'in theory' that dogs are banned on lots of beaches in the summer but it would be just an early morning, late evening walk. Thats why also wed be looking for plenty of grassy areas.

I can't recommend a beach but I would advise that you check the rules and regulations before you commit to moving .............. there is a ban on dogs on our beach during the summer season. :-))))))))))))))

There's Camber Sands near Hastings, Heather. He'd like it there, I think.

I have googled but there is no info, so over to you with personal knowledge. We are thinking of moving but need to be near a sandy beach because of our disabled dog. We cant make him walk a long way to recreation areas/grass. Any ideas please?
