Coincidentally I saw something on my screen that said this month's million pound P.B. winners so I went to have a look and there were two listed, one in Birmingham I think who had had their bond since 2001 and one in Buckingham who had only bought their bond in February this year. What jammy luck!!

If I recall correctly, the prize fund equates to interest of about 2.5%. If you have a reasonable holding then you will get small prizes averaging a little less than that, but with the chance of a 'biggie' if your luck is in.

Children Under age 16: bonds must be bought by a parent, guardian or grandparent. Any prize money will normally be paid to the parent or guardian. After age 16 the child takes over the bond. E x

Won two lots of £50 and I think I won £100 once - have £35 worth in my name, and my son has £100. Mine I have had since the late 60's, son had his for 10 years no luck yet with his. What I would do if I won a million - security for the rest of my life and my son too. If only....

Interestingly enough, you have to be over 16 to buy them yourself, however children under 16 can have them bought by a parent or guardian., and if they win the parent or guardian can claim the prize Elaine x

with average luck, should get about 3% per year (or whatever the rate is at the time) there is a page on teletext channel 4 which give the counties and holdings of the major winners. The more you have the better your chance of a regular win. I have won quite a few including £500 once.

My M-i-L transferred her savings (£20,000) from a building society account into Premium Bonds 3 years ago. She wins at least £50 each month and gets annoyed if she doesn't win anything! She's nearly 90, bless her! When you work it out, she has earned more from her wins than she would have got from interest, so it was worthwhile for her. I have had £5 worth of bonds since 1960 and never won anything though! Sue xx

Never won a sausage sob sob. Have had mine for years - can't remember their value now. My dad had his for goodness knows how long and never won, yet a neighbour of mine won two or three times a year, quite reasonable amounts too. Lorrainex Probably depends on how many you have to start with though:-)
