I think the main reason why you shouldn't is the risk of slipping on wet grass and mowing your foot. OUCH

Ultimately you shouldn't be mowing the lawn, it's a Man's job! xx

The phone rang so now most unfortunately I don't have time to cut the grass :o) I shall get myself a circuit breaker and then I won't have to worry about any quick downpours. And as Bec says it's a man's job anyway so perhaps I should do something more feminine instead. Is putting nail varnish on in the rain dangerous do you think? Helenxx

It makes it difficult to clean the mower and if your one sucks the grass it makes it hard because the grass is heavier, You do clean your mower???

Well James, I haven't cleaned this one yet because it's new, but I did clean the old one before it died :o)

Wet grass is difficult to cut and it sticks to the blade...it is also heavier and the power of the mower is usually insufficient to throw wet and sticky grass into the grass box...which means that the bits of mown grass just fall out from the side or rear and leave a mess on the lawn..............this applies to most petrol lawnmowers as well...but there are some more expensive ones that do mow wet grass.................a circuit breaker also helps when you accidentally mow the cable

I dunno.....but I cut through the wire of the strimmer and lived :-)
