Overdoing anything on your hair will ultimately damage it. Dying it too often could make it fall out!!! That's what happened to my friend. I don't use the straighteners every day, and I have long hair, but I always make sure I protect it as much as possible, with the right conditioner and serum, and I use a wide tooth comb, not a brush, to de-tangle it.

I agree with Kate My daughter does the same and uses them most days but as I dont see her daily the damage to her hair is more noticable

No it won't singe without a lotion as long as you do not take too long over it. However, John Frieda Frizzease Serum is excellent for smoother straighter hair, and helps to stop it threatening to curl again in humid weather. It costs a bit but you only use a bit at a time on wet hair. I don't use a hair dryer if I can help it, better to let it dry naturally, then straighten it, but if you do, make sure you have a paddle brush and don't have the heat too high. Make sure you give your hair time to relax and cool down before going on to the next stage.

Hi Joan, Would love to use these on my hair but I couldn't do it myself because my hair is too long. My daughter uses them all the time and I've noticed that her hair is becoming really dry and split, Kate x

Used my sons once (yes...my sons!) my hair resembled Gizzard Puke for at least one month! Don't let that put you off though, most people use them satisfactorily. lol Tina

.........anyone use them (that has hair that is, lol). Just wondered how difficult it is to do yourself? I am now the proud owner of straight hair just had it re-styled, first time I have ever had straight hair in my life, lol ! Thing is I am panicking that when I wash it will I be able to do it myself. Do you have to use a lotion on your hair or anything or will it singe without? Thanks :0) Joan
