What about the little jewish slave maid to Naaman's wife. Although she was in captivity, she did not hold back in telling Naaman about the 'man of God' back in Isreal who she believed could cure Naaman's leprosy. What a kind heart and forgiving person she was. Dorothy |

Gee, tough choice! At the moment I'll go for Lois - she is mentioned as Timothy's grandmother and obviously had great input into his life. Gives me encouragement as a new grandmum :) Vonny |

Yes, the good samaritan - probably the first bible story we were taught. The female choices are good - surprised no-one has nominated Martha, who is my own favourite bible lady. King David is a real bible character - wouldn,t get a good press nowadays, though. thanks to you all. Happy days. |

I really like David, He did so many dreadful things, had an affair arranged to kill the husband, spied on a woman in the bath, BUT still God forgave him, and used him. It proves there is hope for us all. I have to say I relate to most of those mentioned, Thomas, Peter and the thief on the cross. Suex |

Thanks again for the replies. Have posted befiore that I think Judas was nothing like as black as he is painted. Saul (Paul) never does anything for me, but his contribution to the new testament is second to none . Happy days |

Thomas, because I could associate with his feelings. Peter, same as above, and because he was forgiven. Maybe strangely, Judas, I felt sorry for him. Paul - what an experience on the road to Damascus! The poor man, with the thorn in his flesh. Luke, who, according to the historical novel, Dear and Glorious Physician, travelled to find Jesus; did not find him, but did see Mary who told him about her Son. David in the Old Testament - bad was overcome. (Sorry, bad grammar.) |
