Following on from Yvonne,s excellent thread, thought it might be an interesting project. Jesus would be too obvious, so please indicate your choice, and why. I would plump for 'doubting' thomas. Like millions of others I find it very hard to believe in something other people tell me about, but can,t prove for myself. Happy days |

The question makes me chuckle, but as I have no idea about the Good Book, I will say, King Herod, or the Pharoh. Everyone likes to hate a baddie. |

Might sound a bit weird but I'd choose the thief on the cross who received that wonderful assurance from Jesus - ' Today you will be with me in paradise' . Proof indeed that it's never too late to repent ! |

Hello Harry Hows the birds!! Hmmm what a poser with so so many to choose from. Perhaps King David because although he fell from grace on many occasions for being naughty - he was still 'A man after God's own heart' What a wonderful privilege and like the dying thief on the cross Jayvee - sharing in paradise with the Father. Peter who became frightened when Christ was arrested and denied knowing Him . I can understand his panic and fear. Am I right in thinking he was crucified upside down by his own request? |

this is a hard one Harry. I think of many. THOMAS because I find I often 'need' proof. PETER because I understand his fears. RUTH because I to am often looking for the next 'better' bargain. She is the one of the gleanings, isn't she?? Soloman because he knew how to treat fairly, and I'd like to think I do. I suppose we could go right through them all and find our own faults and strengths. Deanna X |

Thomas, because I could associate with his feelings. Peter, same as above, and because he was forgiven. Maybe strangely, Judas, I felt sorry for him. Paul - what an experience on the road to Damascus! The poor man, with the thorn in his flesh. Luke, who, according to the historical novel, Dear and Glorious Physician, travelled to find Jesus; did not find him, but did see Mary who told him about her Son. David in the Old Testament - bad was overcome. (Sorry, bad grammar.) |

Thanks again for the replies. Have posted befiore that I think Judas was nothing like as black as he is painted. Saul (Paul) never does anything for me, but his contribution to the new testament is second to none . Happy days |

I really like David, He did so many dreadful things, had an affair arranged to kill the husband, spied on a woman in the bath, BUT still God forgave him, and used him. It proves there is hope for us all. I have to say I relate to most of those mentioned, Thomas, Peter and the thief on the cross. Suex |
